Jay wakes up to the sound of his phone alarm blaring.
He blindingly searches for it on the surface of his blanket and whines when with a few seconds of raking, he couldn't find it. He's forced to sit up to look for it, but when he opens his eyes and some of his consciousness has returned, he realizes he's on a bed. The king-sized bed in the one-bedroom in the huge house. Which is weird cause he remembers sleeping in the sitting area by the library.
"Lights, on," Jay instructs. The light in the bedroom turns on.
So either he's so tired to the point of sleepwalking towards the 2nd-floor bedroom, or he was semi-awake when he moved to the 2nd floor (which is highly unlikely since he's a bit of a heavy sleeper)
Or,
Or, he got carried by Khun Tan. (Which is the highest unlikely. Cause, no. it's simply impossible)
'Nah,' Jay thinks.
The stress and the lack of sleep from the last week must've gotten into him.
He shrugs and turns off his phone alarm when it rang again for the 2nd time. He rubs his eyes to wipe off any remnants of sleep and stalks outside the room.
He slowly walks towards the living room, looking around for any signs of his boss but he doesn't find him.
He must've had an early morning too.
It was 5:30 AM and when Jay looks out the glass door, it isn't bright enough yet. He slides it open and sees that the backyard is also rather large.
The air a little cold, but evidently more humid and heavy and it smelled lovingly of the sea. The air wafted across Jay's hair, against his cold cheeks, and even in his pajamas. Then there he realizes that pajamas can be beach outfits, too. He never thought of that. How these pair of sleepers protected him from the sea breeze but enough to let it through and feel the coldness of the dawn.
Jay walks towards the seashore, barefoot and unafraid, the sand very fine, and as cold as the night. He only stops when his feet are barely on the border of where the waves stop wetting the sand and he digs his toes into the damp surface.
The sea is evidently clean and well-preserved as it smells fresh and only that of the natural briny scent of the ocean.
'I'd love to swim here. Maybe I can after all the meetings,' he thinks.
He stays standing for some minutes more, just feeling the cold, brackish breeze and the way it caresses and combs his hair, and looks at his phone for the time. The sun was supposed to rise right now, but it wasn't rising from this side.
"The sunset then," he tells himself.
He goes back towards the house but remembers that Khun Tan instructed for food to be served when one of them is awake.
"Right. Maybe he's already there," Or if not, if the staff sees him, they'll start making breakfast.
So he walks towards the pavilion.
The trail towards it of fine sand, and green grass on the side, enough he can walk all the way barefoot.
He reaches the high-ceiling pavilion and sees the beautiful array of lotus flowers on the front. The violet and purple breaking the uniformity of the modern design.
The crystal clear ripples of the ocean and the sight of the purple beauties- 'This must be what paradise looks like,' he thinks.
He goes into the actual high-ceiling structure and sees the older man perched on a wooden chair. The table crammed with different selections of breakfast and Jay realizes-
