Subject: Jay, I know you're reading this. Respond now.

Jay, I don't know why you're doing this. Is it because I've gone too far on my threat from the last email? But for any reason, I apologize. I won't lock you up in a room with my father, anymore. What about a nice dinner instead? In an exclusive restaurant? Will you forgive me?

Either way, please respond. I wasn't that angry the last time. I know you're in love with my father. And I know my Guitar is mine, but as long as you're available on the market, I'm afraid you are a threat. So get on with my father as soon as possible and so I don't find you a rival anymore. You can go back to being my older brother (or step-father. Potato-potayto).

And I'm even going to throw Nong Moon into the mix.

Are you sold yet? My cards are on the table, it's up to you to take them.

Love,

Solo

Subject: Khun Chaai, I didn't mean it.

Khun Chaai,

I didn't mean to make you upset. I meant to tease you by responding late but it seemed to have backfired. Either way, I'm not angry, nor am I a threat. Khun Gui is as in love with you, as you are with him. And not an ounce of me will interfere with that. So please be rest assured.

And no need for such drastic interventions, Khun Chaai. My personal affairs are my business, and I will not let them affect Khun Tan. My emotional predicament is a distraction I'm working on eliminating. But I may have finally found a solution. And I hope, as your older brother, you will support my decision when the time comes.

Adding nong Moon into the mix is, I admit, very tempting, but I digress. I have made up my mind, and this time, I will deal with it.

Respectfully,

Jay

Now go back to texting with your Guitar while you can and enjoy the little free time that you have. You will both be busier as the day passes.

Love,

Jay

Perfect. Send.

Jay sighs. Par has finished packing the dishes and she sets them on the table in front of them. Jay smiles at her again, and the auntie is patting his cheeks.

"You okay na, Luuk?"

Jay pockets his phone and then smiles.

"As okay as one can be, Par. Thank you for letting us buy everything."
