In this dream I had to get a surgery done, I don't remember what the surgery was on, but in order to perform it I had to go I to orbit around the Earth for some reason. I never questioned it.
I wasn't too thrilled about it. Sure, space is cool and all, but the idea of going up there, alone no less, felt so scary. All pitch black up there, the only oxygen you have being within your tiny space craft, a million things could go wrong- I didn't know anything at all about space ships or space exploration, so naturally my mind drifted to all the things that could go wrong: somehow the ship straying out of orbit, colliding with space debris, perhaps the ship would malfunction and I'd run out of oxygen, and so on.
I had an escort to the site where I'd get in the ship to space. She was a short woman with black hair and as she drove me to the site, I was allowed to ask her a few questions.
(I only remember a few key phrases but I'll try to make it into a dialogue.)
"Have you ever been to space before?"
"Yes, but only when I had to, for surgeries."
"Yeah... space is scary. I feel like I would be so vulnerable up there, alone with all the stars."
"Mhmm. We all content ourselves with this ancient blue aquarium, we shouldn't have to go in the vast darkness."
I nodded and stared out the window.
...And abruptly my dream ends!
