First Day Jitters;

I woke up with a groan as there was knocking on my door. "I'm coming," I yelled when the knocking wouldn't stop.

Stumbling out of bed, I ran to the door and yanked it open. "I said- What?" I growled once I saw Draco standing in front of me.

"Good morning to you too, sunshine!" He scoffed, walking into my dormitory.

I rolled my eyes and crawled back in bed, wrapping myself in my blanket. "Go away, I'm tired," I snap.

"No! We have lesson's and I don't want to see my girlfriend get one of the carrow's amazing detention," he said, making me groan even louder.

I turn around and sit up slightly, rubbing my eyes. "How did you even get in here?" I asked, staring at him with tired eyes.

"I do what I want. Now get ready," he instructed, pulling me out of bed.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed my uniform, walking into the bathroom to get dressed.

I wasn't ready for the first day of school considering everything was different. Death eaters were teaching us and I had a feeling their method of teaching would be different from my previous professors.

With a huff, I exited the bathroom and walked over to my desk. Brushing out my hair and applying some light makeup on.

"You can be yourself here y'know," he says in a low tone as he watches me apply my make-up.

I shake my head as I intend on ignoring him. Once I looked presentable enough, I grabbed my bag and walked over with Draco.

"Were my frie- Alex and Wren downstairs?" I asked as we walked down the corridor.

He slipped his hand into mine, "No. No one was down, they're all at breakfast." I groan at the word 'breakfast', I haven't eaten properly since yesterday morning.

"We can go eat-"

I shake my head at Draco's offer as I hold his hand tighter. "I'll grab lunch," I lied. Truth was, I wanted to see Dottie after my lessons. I can't stomach the idea of eating with everyone else.

Everyone kept their heads down and their voices mute as they walked to their lessons. Death eaters stood every corner, eyeing the students carefully. All I wanted was Miranda right now.

"We have DADA first, right?" I asked Draco as we walked over to Theodore and Blaise.

He nodded his head, "Yeah with the carrows." I had the pleasure of hearing all about the carrow twins during summer, it wasn't a pleasure at all.

"There's my favourite Hufflepuff!" Theo chuckles lowly, hugging my shoulders.

I send him a small smile, "My favourite Slytherin!" Draco rolled his eyes as he shoved me playfully.

Someone scoffed as they walked past me, I didn't even need to look to know it was Wren. Wren and Alex walked past us as they stood near us, waiting for this lesson.

Theo got ready to walk over and say something but I held him back, "Don't- please!" He sighed and nodded his head, sending him a glare instead.

The doors eventually opened and every single person walked in, terrified of what the hell we're about to learn.

"100% attendance, shame," Alecto grimaced, chucking the register behind her.

Amycus, her twin brother, appeared as he looked around the class. "Today we will be learning the crutiatus curse," he smirked.

No one dared say anything, everyone was practically in shock at what we are meant to learn.

"Monet!"

I jumped at the mention of my name, I looked up to see Amycus gesturing for me to come forward. I gulped as I stood up and slowly walked over.

"Pick someone," he whispered against my ear.

I stood still, eyeing everyone. I knew what was about to happen and I refuse. "Alecto, do the honours," he yawned.

"You!" She snapped.

My heart skipped a beat as she pointed her wand towards Alex. "Up, now!" She raised her voice.

Alex did as he said and came forward, Alecto stopping him in front of me. "Perform the curse on him, Monet," Amycus demanded.

I shook my head, refusing.

"Do it!" Alecto yelled.

I shook my head once more.

"Crucio!"

My heart tore as Alex fell to the floor at the hands of Amycus. "Coward!" He scoffed, walking past me.

"Students! I want a performance of this on one another and-"

I tuned Amycus out as I felt sick to my stomach, Alex was still on the floor and if I were to go to him I was sure to get a hex thrown my way.

He was in so much pain, the way he held his stomach made mine ache.

-

I ran to the nearest bathroom, not giving a damn who is near. I kicked open a stall and threw everything up into the nearest toilet.

I sat there crying as Alex's eyes flashed through my mind again. Seeing him or anyone I love tortured tore my heart entirely.

"Y/n?"

Draco...

I didn't move as I sat in my place, crying. He found me eventually as he sat in front of me, wiping my tears away.

"It's not fair, I don't want to be here," I choked, holding myself.

"I know but it's better than being at the manor. I'm so sorry about all of this, Y/n," he sighed as he held my numb hands.

I took in a deep breath as I shook my head, staring at the floor. "I want to be alone if that's alright," I whispered.

When I didn't get a response, I looked up to see he was staring at me. "Okay, I'll be in the Slytherin common room if you need me," he said.

He placed a kiss on the side of my head and walked away, leaving me alone.

It was just the first day and already my best friend got hurt. Everything in this school is breaking and I'm going to be left broken.

Hola! So, guys, I am not abandoning this book HOWEVER I am in the process of writing a new book called 'Imperium'.

It is basically Royalty x Hogwarts. It is a Draco Malfoy fanfiction still, of course. It would mean the world if you guys checked it out - the first two chapters are already out.

I will be back to this book, not too long. I want to see if my other book will go anywhere because this book isn't :( I will finish this soon though, I'll probably give an update tomorrow.
