Ellen's POV:
"Katie is here," I said, my insides churning. She hated me in highschool, why the hell would she be here? God, she was really pretty. I recognized her giggly laughter and wanted to do nothing more than leave.

"Who's Katie, babe?" Harry asked with a confused look.

"She's like, the one person in life I dislike more than the Kardashians." And she was walking toward us. fuck.

"Ellen!" she exclaimed with a wide smile.

"Katie," I replied as she hugged me.

"You've gotten so thin!" Well, damn. That's a backhanded compliment if I've ever heard one.

"Thanks."

"You are so lucky," she beamed. "You finally found someone. I didn't think you would."

"You're being so ru-"

"Katie, if you'll excuse us, please. We've got other people to talk to," Harry interrupted, immediately pulling me away from her.

"I see why you don't like her, but calm down," he murmured, his hands tight on my waist. My jaw clenched and my hands balled into fists.

"Calm, baby. Calm. You're a lot stronger than she is."

"That's my problem. I'm not," I seethed, trying to get out of his grip.

"Ellen. Look at me." His arms tightened around my waist.

"Harry, she was being so fu-" I started.

"When we get home, you and I are going to open a bottle of wine, light candles and sit in the bathtub. Just you and me, okay?" he cooed quietly. "You can make it through this. Don't let one mean person ruin it for you. Take a few deep breaths, give me a kiss, and let's go have a good time." Letting out a sigh, I closed my eyes, only focusing on what was to come when we left.

"Fine," I smiled, reopening my eyes and seeing Harry smile widely.

"That's my girl," he murmured, kissing me softly.

"I love you," I whispered, fighting off tears that threatened to fall.

"I love you, too my darling. C'mon," he replied, kissing me again and intertwining our fingers and pulling me toward the crowd. Keeping close to Harry, dishing fake smiles, and anxiously waiting until dinner was served, we all finally sat down at the tables they had set up. Halfway through my chicken Parmesan, Louis stood, tapping his knife against his glass and I swallowed nervously.

"I know this is just an engagement party, but it feels right to be making some sort of speech so you'll just have to listen," he smiled and there was light chuckling among us.

"I've known Harry for a long time, he's one of my best mates. When we first met Ellen at one of our shows, we all sympathized with her. Even after, Harry couldn't seem to get her off his mind. He looked at her the way someone looks at a sunrise. You could tell he was in love from the very beginning. It's an amazing thing to see two people so in love that they are literally each other's halves," he sighed. "I said I wouldn't cry and here I go." My heart melted.

"You better not laugh," he chuckled. "Um, from the beginning of their relationship, we knew Ellen was good for him. Just from the way he smiled when her name would come up in a conversation or he'd always seem to bring the conversation back to her, he was obsessed. They've been through a lot together and I've loved watching them every step of the way. To the beautiful couple, I can't wait to see what life has in store for you when you get married."

I smiled widely, leaning into Harry and gave Louis a nod as he took a sip from his glass and sat down. As the party dwindled and my alcohol intake increased, I kept it to a minimal two glasses of wine and nothing more. Finally, Harry and I left, me being giddy to get in the bathtub.

"That was fun," Harry smiled as we pulled into the driveway and made our way inside.

"It was," I agreed, taking off my shoes at the end of the stairs before walking up them slowly with Harry trailing behind me. When we reached our room, I pulled him close, running my hands through his soft hair and kissing him.

"Can you unzip the back?" I chuckled, turning around, moving my curls out of the way. There was silence as his wam hands met my skin and slowly unzipped the dress. Letting it fall to the floor, his hands caressed my shoulders before he placed a kiss to the side of my neck, tenderly rubbing up and down my arms.

"Come on." Following him into the bathroom, I slowly unbuttoned his shirt and let it fall to the floor.

"I'm gonna let you take off your pants, because they're like painted on," I laughed. Watching intently as he unbuckled his belt and shrugged his pants to the floor, we both stood there in our underwear. Watching him light the vanilla brown sugar candles we had gotten when I moved in as I attempted to open the bottle of wine, I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Whats so funny?" he smirked, turning the water off.

"Nothing," I shrugged, unclasping my bra and tossing it on the floor. Completely undressing before stepping into the warm tub, I dipped my foot beneath the hot, soapy water and practically sank in after that. Harry's body was. Warm under mine and I smiled as he handed me a glass of the familiar red liquid.

"You're not gonna bite me, are you?" I teased.

"This isn't the Vampire Diaries," he laughed. I relished the feeling of his chest vibrating against my back.

"Good," I chuckled and leaned my head against his chest. There was silence between us again and I played with his fingers.

"Harry?"

"Yes, love?" he murmured, pressing a kiss to my shoulder.

"Do you think we're doing the right thing?" I asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Before we were together, the world was black and white. And then we swoop in in screaming color. I just feel like people will think we're not really in love."

"Do you not think we're really in love?" he countered. And honestly, I didn't know how to answer him.
