Ellen's POV:

My phone began to ring and I was stuck underneath Harry. Reaching my arm out it barely missed the nightstand and Harry groaned on top of me.

"Turn it off," he sighed sleepily and I was going to have a panic attack.

"It's my mom," I groaned and pushed his heavy torso off of mine.

"Hello?" I rasped.

"Ellen! I have huge news!" she practically screamed.

"I was sleeping."

"You'll want to be awake for this."

"What's going on?"

"Okay, so that surgeon in California called me this morning."

"Yeah?"

"And you remember how when you were born, your eyes didn't develop internally like they should?"

"Yeah."

"Well, it turns out, they can do something about it."

"W-what?" I gasped.

"They could do an experimental surgery on you and," she paused. "You could be able to see."

"Oh my God."

"How would you feel about doing it?"

"Um," I couldn't breathe. "Um, let me get back to you on that. When would they do it if I did?"

"January seventh."

"Let me call you back." Hanging up my phone, I took a deep breath. The opportunity to finally see the light after 18 years of darkness? Holy fuck.

"Harry," I whispered.

"Go away," he groaned.

"Wake up."

"No."

"I'm pregnant," I teased. I felt his head shoot up and began to laugh.

"You're mean," he groaned, placing a kiss on my thigh. "But hi."

"I just got off the phone with my mom."

"What'd she say?"

"I could be able to see."

"What? How?" I felt Harry sit up and took a deep breath.

"When I was sixteen, we went to this surgeon in California who examined my eyes, trying to find out why I was blind. He said that inside my eyes, hadn't developed right, apparently the muscles or some shit. Anyway, apparently, he called my mom this morning and said that there's an experimental surgery they could do that could possibly give me vision." There was nothing but silence for a few minutes.

"Wow," Harry sighed.

"That's what I said."

"Are you gonna do it?"

"I'm on the fence."

"What are you on the fence about?"

"What if it doesn't work? Or what if it does work and I go crazy?" I rambled on nervously.

"Hey," Harry murmured, pulling me toward him. "What if it does work and you can finally see how much beauty you bring into the world?" He kissed my forehead and rubbed my shoulder tenderly. He had a point. Damn him and his British ways.

"I'm scared."

"Just think, you'll be able to play piano better. You've got enough time to play basketball. You can do all the gangs you've ever wanted to do."

"I'll be able to see you," I smiled, tears falling from my eyes as I brought my hands to his face.

"You can still see me now. Maybe not physically, but you see me in ways no one else does."

"Harry," I sniffled.

"What's wrong, pretty girl?"

"What if it doesn't work?"

"Then that's something we'll deal with together."
