Harry's POV:

My heart began to race as we got dressed. Ellen managed to get her sweatpants on with no help and I watched as she buttoned my shirt around her torso. Grabbing her keys from the counter, I followed her out the front door into the less than comforting Knoxville air.

"Let me have the keys," I said as we finally reached the bottom of the steps.

"I can drive Harry."

"Ellen, give me the keys."

"Harry, I can drive. It's fine," she snapped.

"You can barely get your clothes on by yourself. Give me the keys," I replied firmly and held out my hand. We stood there in silence and she shoved the keys in my hand. Putting my hand on her back, she immediately shoved me off.

"Do not touch me." I frowned as I got in the driver's seat and started the car. Watching as she slightly struggled to get in, she slammed the door and leaned against the window. It was thirty seven degrees outside and it felt like is was negative fifty between the two of us. Pulling into the parking lot of the closest CVS, I parked before turning off the car and sitting in silence. Pulling her wallet out of her purse in the floorboard, I watched as she fixed her hair into a messy bun and started to get out. Fighting the urge to cry as she walked inside, I decided to give her some space and took a deep breath. Tapping on the steering wheel, it seemed like forever until she came out with two bags. Getting back in the car, she sighed and I could see tears falling down her face.

The drive back to her apartment was awkward and silent. You could have cut the tension like a birthday cake and it still wouldn't have dissolved. We sat in the same still silence for a few minutes after we pulled into our previous parking spot and she finally got out with a sigh. Following close behind her as we made our way up the cement staircase and inside her apartment, I hastily shut the door. I didn't know what to say. I guess that's why I was a guy. Trying to think of something to say, I followed her down the hall toward her room and found her lying down on her stomach.

"What?" she sniffled and rummaged through the bags, pulling out a small box and opening it. Deciding to not ask her what was wrong, I simply walked toward the bed and laid down next to her.

"Harry, don't." I scooted closer to her and wrapped my arms around her waist.

"Stop."

"Harry I'm serious," she cried, smacking at my chest. Closing my eyes, I just pulled her into my chest and felt her begin to sob. Rolling on her side of her non broken leg, she practically molded into me and I just held her, stroking her hair and fighting off my own tears.

"Why? Why does all this stuff have to be happening to me? Can I get a freaking break?" Feeling her tears finally soaking through my shirt, I lifted her head and placed my lips to hers.

"It'll be okay. You were given all of this because you're strong enough to beat it."

"No I'm not Harry, I'm not."

"Yes you are! You've made it this far with all the crap you've been through and you're only getting stronger." She took a deep breath and continued to cry.

"I love you. I love you so much. You can do this. We can do this."

"We can't do this, you've go things to do for the new album, I've got school and after I get my cast off, physical therapy."

"Ellen, you are my priority right now. The album releases on iTunes in like, five weeks and I'll still be able to be with you for thanksgiving."

"Can I just like, stab myself? I think I'd feel better if I did."

"No, baby doll. You can't," I chuckled, kissing her forehead. She took a deep breath and looked up at me.

"I guess the world would go crazy without my tall badass-ness," she laughed, wiping at her cheeks.

"It really would."

"Are you all cried out now?"

"I think I am. I really want some cookies now, though."

"Did you buy some?" I laughed.

"I did. I got some tea and chocolates too. I took that Plan B onestep thing," she replied with a slight smile. My smile slightly faded and I let out a sigh.

"Alright love, let's watch some cliché vampire show and eat cookies," I teased with a wide smile.

"Sounds like a plan," she guffawed and I let go of her to pick up the bags off the ground. She had gotten several packages of cookies, a few of those Arizona Teas for like, 99 cents and they were surprisingly good. Turning on the television, we went to her DVR and she clicked on the entire season of the Vampire Diaries she had had recorded, but never watched.

"So this Damon guy is in love with Elena?" I asked, pointing at he television.

"Yes."

"But Elena's a vampire and she's dead right?"

"Why do you think she's dead?"

"There's two of her. Isn't Katherine like, her ghost or something?"

"No," she laughed, putting her hand on her face. After pretending to listen to her explanation of the series, I just watched her talk. Seeing her genuinely laugh was the best thing in the world.

"So now Damon is still in love with Elena and I don't know what else is going on because there's too much shit between them in the show and I wish they would just have sex already." We both burst into laughter and ended up watching an episode of Cake Boss and of course, that made her want to make a cake. This was going to be fun.
