The next three days seemed to be the best days of my life. It was on the fourth day however, I was saddened and slightly nervous to see Harry. Hearing the doorbell ring, I carefully walked down the stairs and opened the front door.
"Hey Har-" I was interrupted by his smooth lips as he picked me up and I couldn't help but smile.
"Hello beautiful," he murmured before kissing me again.
"Hi," I whispered, smiling as I bit my bottom lip and he sat me back on my feet.
"Anybody home?"
"Parents went out shopping and Ashton's asleep."
"Let's leave a note then. Wouldn't want them freaking out, would we?" Walking back through the foyer, I heard Harry's heavy footsteps behind me.
"You'll have to write it. I've seemed to have lost my glasses and am blind as a bat," I laughed. "There should be a pen in the first drawer to your right and paper on the fridge."
"I've got it." His laughter sounded magical. Everything about him seemed magical. Although, I knew he wasn't. After a few minutes of silence, I felt his hand grasp mine.
"Where to today?" I asked with a slight smile as we walked into the cold air that violently flapped at my peacoat.
"It's a surprise."
"I hate surprises."
"I know."
"Harry."
"Ellen."
"Will you just tell me?" I laughed.
"Nope."
"Fine. I won't give you your surprise."
"Oh, really? And what would that be?"
"Oh, no no no. I can't tell you. I'm sorry. You just won't get it." I tried to hide my smile and felt his hand envelope mine. The rest of the ride was quiet and I sighed with relief as the car finally came to a stop.
"I thought we might get some hot chocolate and skate and then go to dinner," Harry said as I unbuckled my seat belt. I had heard about the rink they had temporarily opened downtown and immediately smiled because I had been wanting to go.
"It's perfect," I smiled and opened my door, carefully stepping out into the cold, crisp air. Feeling Harry loop his arm with mine, we began to walk and I could feel people looking at us. Getting our skates, he help me put mine on.
"Nice socks," he laughed.
"They don't match, do they?"
"No, but that's okay."
"They never have," I sighed with a chuckle.
"Nothing beautiful in life ever does." Helping me stand, I soon realized we were going on the ice.
"Harry, please, for the love of God, don't let me fall." My grip was steel-like on his arm and he chuckled.
"I've got you." He cleared his throat as we began to skate and I felt weightless. Until both of us came crashing down.
"I told you I'd fall!" I squealed with laughter.
"We both fell. It's okay."
"I'm horrible at this. Like everything in my life."
