No Matter Where You Are- Us

Raging Fire- Phillip Phillips

I couldn't believe all of this. School was in less than three days and I had gone to the concert three months ago. The three days leading up to school were the slowest three days of my life. In the first few weeks, I caught up with my friends and only fell once, which wasn't a first for me. I had the guidance counselor recommend I get a stick to make sure I don't run into people. Fuck that HA. No. I was about to be in college and I had gone 18 years with no stick. I could manage another 18. Besides, I had Blakely. For a blind person, I'd like to think I got around pretty well. Most of the kids at my school that were blind couldn't, but I learned to. Making I through the day without punching someone was difficult enough. Heading toward the cafeteria, everything was relatively quiet.

Feeling someone -who I hoped was Blakely- rope their arm with mine, I felt a small kiss on my cheek.

"What was that for, Blake?" I laughed, utterly confused by his actions.

"Forgotten your favorite brother that quick, huh?" The voice replied and I immediately recognized. I stayed silent and took a deep breath, also recognizing his scent. I didn't know what to say. I hadn't seen him in so long, or what to me, seemed like forever.

"When and how did you get here?" I smiled.

"I got in this morning. Surprised mom at work and she gave me the directions to come see you," he chuckled. Stopping in front of him and tossing my arms around him, I felt like I was home all over again.

"I've missed you so much, Ash." I tried to hold back my tears as we stood there embracing.

"I've missed you too, gorgeous." Tears streamed down my cheeks and I tried to wipe at them before Ashton pulled me into another hug.

"Sorry," I sighed with a small laugh.

"It's okay. Mom burst into tears when I walked in her office. Maybe that should've told me I'd been away for a while," he laughed.

"Are you home for good?" I asked as we began walking again.

"Yep. Just got done with a fifteen million dollar contract and I'm home for good." I began to cry more as we walked out the door into the cool, fall air and I couldn't help but smile widely. Ashton was back. For good. Home.

"Do you see Blakely?" I asked, scratching my nose.

"I told him I wanna have a little big brother, little sister time with you. Mom called and got you an early dismissal so, now we have the whole day to hang out."

"This is almost as good as my birthday," I beamed.

"Hey!" Ashton whined.

"I kid, this is better."

"I saw that though."

"What?"

"Where they brought you on stage."

"How?!"

"Just because I was in France doesn't mean that I don't see and read shit," he chuckled, helping me into his car. He closed the door and I was surrounded by quiet until he opened the other door and got in.

"It's really no big deal," I lied.

"Elle bell, it's a huge deal."

"Ashton, it was a concert, I went on stage. Big whoop," I shrugged, trying to hide my excitement.

"Oh, and Blake told me about the messages between you and your future husband," he teased.

"Shut the fuck up!" I squealed, punching his arm.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Styles. I beg to differ. If he followed you on twitter and messaged you. He definitely likes you."

"Ashton, seriously no he doesn't. They're basically on tour until November. He probably says that to plenty of girls."

"You should've seen the way he was looking at you," he sighed.

"Why does everybody keep saying that? How was he looking at me?"

"Like you were the only girl in the room."
