Today was finally the day of the dance for the past couple of days miguel started karate at some dojo called cobra kai. Ever since then he started standing up against Kyler more which scared Maria. Luckily for maria she could watch her brother learn as sensai lawrence wasnt allowing girls yet. So while her twin was training she focused on making her costume for the dance it had taken days. Demetri was going to pick maria up to take her to the dance whereas johnny was taking miguel.

Once maria was ready she heard a knock.

"Demetri hey" Maria said opening the door to reveal her hogwarts uniform.

Demetri was going for some kind of warlock with a magical amulet. Maria got into his car and sat next to Eli who was dressed as a doctor as said before. However Maria was kind of disappointed he was wearing a mask over half his face.

"hi eli" maria said sweetly smiling at him.

"hey" he replied kindly.

The trio waited patiently for miguel to arrive. Maria then heard her favourite song come on.

"oh my god one of you dance with me pleaseeeeee" maria begged.

'HELL NO" Demetri declared.

"eli?" maria asked fluttering her eyelashes at him.

"i guess so but one dance" eli said shyly.

"thank you your the best" maria screamed grabbing his hand dragging him to the dancefloor.

Maria put her hands around Eli's neck but he had no idea where to put his hands.

"on the waist or hips i dont mind" maria advised with a wink.

Eli put his hands gently on her waist at start but as he grew more comfortable went to the hips.

"you know you dont need to hide your face with me" maria said gently pulling his mask down to see his small smile.

"you dont think my scar is wierd or ugly" eli asked still quite shy.

"your the exact opposite of ugly eli and no i think your scar is pretty cool... i can you show you my scar if youd like" maria says  trying not thinking of the reason of the scar.

"you have a scar?" eli stuttered surprised.

Maria lifted her shirt to show her side where a scar from the bottom of her breast to around belly button length was revealed.

"holy shit maria how is that even possible" eli blurted not expecting to see something that big.

"its from... its from my dad" maria said sadly returning to a dance postiton.

"do you mind if i asked how?" eli asked softly not wanting to offend her in anyway.

"he and his gang was going to attack miguel with the belt for the second time that day. I couldn't bare it, my mama was at work. I... i tried to defend my brother but switched the abuse to me. The scar is just showed you nearly killed me however i have many more from cigarette burns, scratchs or self harm" maria admitted her eyes stinging with tears but refused to cry.

Eli cupped Maria's face and strocked her cheekbone. Maria gazed up at him while he also had tears in his eyes.

"I think your amazing maria and you didnt deserve any of that" eli said comfortably.

Little did the pair know that miguel and demetri was rooting for them from afar. They held eye contact for a long time before maria finally made a move. Since Eli was a couple of inches taller she tiptoed to reach his lips but before actually kissing his lips she kissed his scar  which made him blush madly but then both leant in meeting each other half way.

It was in that moment everything felt okay. Demetri and Miguel was hype dancing they finally saw the ship come together. The song ended and they returned to their best friends.

"maria us guys are heading to the toilet okay" miguel said before grabbing both demetri and eli.

They had left her stranded in the middle of the dance so she walked up to the food table. A girl from marias maths was there aisha.

"hi aisha im maria im in your maths" she introduced herself.

"hi maria would you like any cheetos before i eat all of them" aisha giggled.

"maybe one how are you" maria asked before putting a cheeto in her mouth.

Before aisha could answer both their phones pinged to notify them. It was rare that maria heard that noise but what she saw was vile. It was a photo of aisha before maria came over with a pig snout eating a chetto.

"aisha..." maria started before aisha running out of the dance probably going home.

Maria decided to finally search for the boys as she entered the hallway demetri and eli came running full speed.

"woah woah flash and quicksilver where is my brother?" she asked before seeing johnny bring an injured miguel from the male toilets.

"pietro" maria gasped holding his face.

"it was kyler" miguel coughed.

"sensai we need to get him home" maria basically demanded.

Johnny nodded in agreement. Maria gave demetri and eli her number so they could atleast text each other. Carmen was heartbroken at the sight of her bloody and bruised son.

"maria, tell miguel that i cant be his sensai anymore its going nowhere" Johnny said sadly before entering his own house.

Maria was deverstated for her brother he loved karate. She entered her house to see her nana and mom cleaning Miguel. Maria helped him get into his room.

"what did sensai say to you?" miguel asked sounding fed up.

"he said no more cobra kai' maria said sadly looking up at her twin who seemed more angry.

"no he isnt i wont let him" miguel shouted making maria flinch.

"im sorry maria- wait maria"

but maria had already ran to her own bedroom. Today started of amazing but then kyler happened.
