chapter six | season three

The twins both woke up in a delightful mood. Maria decided to make pancakes which use to be a saturday tradition. Carmen had already set off to work when miguel shouted.

"MARIA HOW CAN I EAT YOUR PANCAKES WHEN I CANT GET INTO MY CHAIR" miguel practically screamed.

Maria ran to help him and took him into the kitchen and handed him some orange juice. It was a odd for miguel to see his sister so bright but it made him happy.

"so what are you doing today I hope not getting impregnated by hawk again" miguel asked with a laugh sipping his juice.

"we just made out and became official but I'm completely free for today" Maria replied handing the pancakes.

"well I stood up yesterday so the next step is to walk if you wanna tag along" miguel said as if it was nothing.

"wait-wait-wait you stood up!" Maria exclaimed happy for her twin.

"yeah sensei is gonna be here - now" miguel says before hearing a knock on the door.

Maria let her old sensei enter the house and offered some pancakes he refused. Johnny then turned to miguel to reveal crunches.

"let's go get your legs working bro" Maria smiled helping him up.

Johnny had set up an entire exercise course for miguel to practise walking. Both miguels twin and sensei were confident he would be walking by the end of the day. It was no lie that miguel was just as stubborn as his twin which made him extra dedicated for literally anything so there was no doubt in Maria that her brother would be back to normal very soon.

"come on miguel I'll do it with you just without crutches" Maria said walking on the plank of wood.

It was around two hours work before things seemed to be wearing off. This would be about the 60th time doing this. Maria grabs a water and just observes her brother until she sees that he can actually walk! seeing this made her choke on her water not believing she was actually seeing it.

"shit!" maria exclaimed happy for miguel

"language" miguel joked back making his twin laugh at the captain america reference

"well done kid" johnny complimented miguel

The three decided to recycle all of miguels now useless things. They decided to celebrate by grabbing a drink at johnnys apartment.

"so if your not the sensei at cobra kai we're gonna need another dojo" miguel states after taking a large chug of his drink.

"your ready to get straight into karate?" maria asked concerned.

"I'm gonna need some major training but yes it's what got me through the coma so yes maria I am ready" miguel answered confidently which made maria not doubt him.

"I'm not gonna let you join karate if I'm not there with you" maria said cockily.

"you want to get back into karate!" Johnny exclaimed surprised.

"I think maybe it's time I get back in action" maria replied with a nod noticing the massive smiles on her sensei and twins faces.

"wait but what about hawk?" miguel asked with slight concern

"what about him?" maria replied with a raised eyebrow.

"how is he gonna react to you joining a different dojo" miguel asked

"our relationship shouldn't matter upon where we learn karate, if you care about someone you care about them regardless" maria answered with a slight hint of uncertainty

Hawk had been trying to get her back in karate all summer and now Johnny is making a new dojo she's so quick to join might upset him. However she stood by what she said karate dojos shouldn't concern their relationship.

The twins go home eventually after arguing over karate dojo names. Nobody could come up with one badass enough.

"so you ready for school tomorrow?" maria asked

"are you?" miguel countered.

"well let's hope it goes swell" maria replied before escaping into her bedroom where she would watch stranger things for the 19th time.

If maria was scared of anything it would be the tension between everyone. Hawk would eventually find out maria was returning to karate. Miguel would find out about the fights between cobra kai and miyagi-do. Yet maria could side with anyone. Hawk was her boyfriend. Miguel was her brother. Demetri was the ex she still cared for. Needless to say the valley was gonna get messy very soon.
