chapter eight

The day of the park had come instead of walking with cobra kai to the park maria decided to meet demetri. As soon as the nerdy boy saw marias hair he gasped touching her soft loose curls.

"maria what on earth did you do" demetri gasped.

"im matching with eli but he styles it into a mohawk" maria stated laughing at the boys surpise.

"really a mohawk" demetri asked kinda disgusted.

"i think it looks good" maria admitted before reaching the group of cobra's.

Demetri noticed the massive change within eli and it kind of scared him. The pair had reached them while eli and bert were sparring. Eli won by kicking bert into the face hard.

"oh my god bert are you okay?" maria gasped hearing the impact on the small boys face.

"im okay thank you maria" bert replies with a blush on his cheeks making eli scoff.

The group started off by having a normal time having a normal conversation until aisha gasped over a instagram comment. Maria turned to aisha giving a look of concern.

"yasmine just commented on my board breaking video with this smartass saying impressive but im surprised the belt can fit that bitch" aisha spat venomously.

"we cant let her get away with this" maria stated.

"i can call up my friend to tattoo bitch on her face" eli said with a laugh.

maria and demetri looked at each other with concern.

"eli calm down" demetri says surprised by his new agressive side.

"its hawk" eli practically glared him down.

maria felt bad for demetri but he didnt know about the new nickname. then the group saw yasmines story saying she was having a party at the quarry everyone smirking then suddenly they were in a shop buying essentials for a party. Maria and Eli had the perfect plan to get beer and vodka.

Maria stood there quietly while 'hawk' was talking to the shopkeeper until it got to the id issue.

"ID im flattered... oh your serious come on dude this is the mother of my child our bert is our pride and joy" eli stated pointing to bert and putting his arm around maria.

"i still need ID because of law" the shopkeeper states shrugging awkwardly.

"okay i get you" eli shrugged reaching into his pocket pulling a fake ID out.

"and how about 8 bottles of vodka"

The party wasnt that impressive everyone seemed to seperate from maria and demetri. Miguel was insistant on getting flatout drunk as he was still upset over sam and that guy at her house. Eli was talking to random people almost as if he was avoiding the orginal four except for miguel. Eli been distant did kinda hurt marias feelings as she truely felt they had something.

"so you still crushing on yasmine?" maria asked demetri breaking their silence.

"yeah but im demetri any female interaction is impressive for me" he giggled capturing eli's attention

"still got a crush on eli" demetri returned the question.

"right now demetri he is changing and its terrifying me" maria admitted before turning to the car that pulled up

Kyler, yasmine, moon and the other goons had finally arrived. Kyler took one look at miguel and ran away like the coward he is. However maria was suddenly uncomfortable with the fact that moon was looking at eli like a piece of candy before running down the hill ignoring yasmine.

"im gonna get a drink" maria stated trying not to be jealous its not like they had done anything.

The diaz twins seemed to be around the beer most of the night. Maria suddenly had a massive urge to be honest with eli.

"demetri have you seen eli" maria asked trying to stabalise herself.

"i dont think you want to talk to eli right now maria" demetri states with a sad look on his face.

"just tell me- " maria states before noticing eli and moon.

snogging.

"oh there he is ... with moon" maria says sadly

Demetri looks at his friend his own heart breaking for her how could eli be such a idiot?!

Maria suddenly ran to her brother with tears rolling down her face.

"miggy can we go home please" maria asked with demetri right behind her

Except miguels attention wasn't on his sister as sam had finally arrived with the boy that was at his house.

"so your too busy to talk to me but you can hang out with him" miguel spat even maria knew this wasnt really him speaking it was the alcohol.

"miguel this robbie-" sam tried explaining but miguel wasn't having it.

"yknow you two deserve each other" miguel spat not caring about sams feelings

"relax dude" the boy said trying to ease the anger abit clearly not working.

The boy speaking was obviously the turning point for miguel as he went to punch him accidently hitting sam in the process. Maria grabbed her before she fell on her ass. Sam gave a look of thanks before turning to miguel again.

"what is wrong with you. we are done" sam shouts capturing everyone's attention before leaving.

Miguel tried shouting after her but got nothing he turned his sister only now noticing her tear stains.

"maria-"

"can we please go home now' maria asks tired.

"ill take you guys home since i haven't drank anything beside lemonade' demetri kindly offers.

The three begin to head to demetri's car realising that aisha, hawk and moon were confronting yasmine. One thing led to another and aisha gave the biggest front wedgie ever known.

"ouch" maria states before high fiving her girl bestie.

She didnt bother saying a formal bye since aisha noticed the tear stains before looking back at hawk linking it. Hawk was also surpised that the twins were leaving without saying bye.

"maria!" hawk shouted leaving moon with aisha.

maria never turned back she moved her body more to her twin who also seemed like he needed a hug. The twins just wanted to party not lose the people they love. Demetri drops them off opening the door for maria knocking on the door so their mom knew they were home safe.

"maria i hope you know that i think eli is stupid for choosing moon over you" demetri states playing with his fingers not having the confidence to look at maria straight in the face.

"thank you demetri maybe we can hangout again soon" maria says smiling at the nerdy boy infront of her.

"id love that anyways i better be off goodnight" demetri says before turning towards his car.

"goodnight" maria shouts before entering her house.

One thing for sure is the next couple of weeks were gonna be a shocker for the twins.
