[ BLACK AND BLUE has captured the hearts of fans around the world. This action drama film has the tried-and-true formula of strangers bonding and coming together for a common goal. For this movie, it's to flee and survive from a group of mercenaries.
The film stars American box-office movie star Y/N L/N and South Korea's Kpop sensation, BLACKPINK. Y/L/N plays the trainer and confidant of Lisa's character, who is a muay thai fighter entered in an underground 'fight club' for the top prize of $250,000. The angelic voice of the girl group, Rosé, plays the sweet but fiesty girlfriend of another fighter in the men's division, played by DC Titan's star, Ryan Potter. BLACKPINK's Jennie plays an investor with hidden skills for the event while Jisoo plays the tough and menacing daughter of the fight club's founder. The six characters are being hunted and terrorized by the film's antagonist, Lisa's fellow Thailand star, Tony Jaa.
While fans initially thought the one to watch in this film is the veteran actor, Y/N L/N, however, it is Kim Jisoo's portrayal of Kang Jae-Hwa is what everyone's talking about. Jisoo embodies the character as the club's menacing overseer with a no-mercy attitude transition to the caring, mediator, overall 'rock' of the group and is convincing throughout the movie.
The other notable mentions are the action scenes that showed Y/L/N, Potter and Lisa's fighting skills. Also, Rosé and Jennie's dramatic and emotional scenes can't help but pull on audiences' heartstrings.
Audiences have gone in masses to see this highly anticipated film. Pre-order tickets for the first month were gone in a BLINK (pun-intended). This movie was initially delayed due to Y/L/N's injury when he was shot, heroically protecting BLACKPINK's Lisa, now confirmed girlfriend. But that didn't stop audiences from foaming at the mouth to see this on opening weekend. BLACKPINK's Rosé also recently revealed the B-side to her long-awaited solo, prior to the movie's release, adding to the hype. News of Lisa's solo is currently in the works and is due out in the following months.
The end of the movie leaves itself open for a possible sequel and fans are already demanding for one. Will Y/N L/N and BLACKPINK grants the fans wishes? ]
