The skies were clear, yet the wind carried a chill wherever it went. White puff detailed the blue canvas, and formed into numerous shapes. I grabbed my keys and ambled through the door. It was almost noon.

As I was driving down the road, I shuffled through my music to have it land on Three Days Grace's album. Camille clearly rubbed off on me.

Family-made houses disappeared as Black Forest took it's place. The cabins were distinct behind the trees as they sat abandoned and almost decayed. Ever since the incubus were attacking people in the forest, no one ever wanted to step foot inside. It was a shame though, living in a beautiful scenery seemed to be a lovely idea.

I passed the lonely woods and went straight to down town. Cars passed through the highway. Their bellow honking could have been heard a mile away. Just outside of town was a small peach-colored diner with jeeps and trucks scattered around the parking lot. I pulled into the diner and parked in my usual space.

I stepped out of my Honda before I had smoothed out my khakis and headed inside. A pale face and curly brown hair tied in a pony tale stepped forward, her smile smug.

"You're a minute late." Kate said and pointed to her wristwatch.

I roll my eyes. "Wow, the first time ever I'm late. A minute late. Its shameful, sinful." I sarcastically said and put my hand on my forehead dramatically.

She giggled and handed me a red apron. We walk towards the locker room while I tied the apron around my waist. I opened my small locker as she waited patiently for me to finish up.

"Anything new going on with you?" Kate questioned, her eyes craving gossip.

"No, nothing much."

"Are you sure? What about your ex?"

"Kate, that was back in middle school." I clarified, taking out my pen and notepad.

"Well, if you don't, then I will." She licked her top lip seductively.

I grimaced. "But, your twenty-five?"

She gasped and swatted my arm. "We should never speak of that number. I'm twenty, remember?"

I shook my head and laughed lightly. I closed my locker door.

"Well, did you meet anyone else?" Kate pushed on quickly.

I stood silent, which had confirmed her question. She stopped me in my tracks and pursued me to continue by waving her hand.

I sighed. "We are not together if that's what you think. We just met." I stepped forward to only have her grab my shoulders.

"But do you think he's cute?" Kate looked me dead in the eyes, her gaze examining.

I opened my mouth to answer, but she didn't need my reply once her gaze fell onto my expression. My cheeks were flushed once she asked the question and the hesitation of my answer was beyond me. I'm not a good liar, I never was.

"Oh my god!" She clapped in glee. "We have to plan this out. I have to get you guys together, I have to meet him, you guys have to get married-"

"Kate, your doing it again." My hand flew up in slight panic.
