Late in the evening, winter's storm ceased as Chalice drove down I-25 and towards Harry's home. Everything was found in sheets of white in the dark night. The atmosphere froze in a dull blur, icing each stop sign and roadway that was come to pass. The window's of Chalice's car fogged up and blurred the snowy trees and the tanned grass who held blankets of snow above them.

The backseat was warm, but my shoulders were shaking and my nose was a light shade of red. The adrenaline continued to sing hotly in my veins, but I tried to ignore it the best I could. Chalice laid me carefully here before we left, grabbing his jacket and resting it over my chest. His jacket was now dropped to the floor, but I didn't bother picking it up. My hands folded against one another, shakily touching the fading blisters once in awhile. A sigh fell from my lips once I pulled my head up to look at the stuffed bear sitting beside Chalice's jacket.

It's back was still open. The blade was roughly stashed inside, waiting for me to hold it once more. I wasn't able to look at the blade again, I couldn't bare to be reminded of the sorceress laying coldly in the ground's snow. My shoulders jittered of the haunting eyes printed inside of my mind. Icily, my hand reached for the teddy bear and softly clasped onto the bow that was wrapped around the paper in its paws.

I pulled it away and let the paper unravel. The bear still held the white note in its paws, but I could see what was inside. My lips breached in surprise, my eyes widening in annoyance. Inside the paper was nothing but a smudge of blood that was splattered all over the baby's carriage. My nose scrunched up as my hand pushed the bear away in irritation. It fell on its back silently, the bear's arms dropping to its sides.

I would have scoffed, but the stutter on my tongue took the best of me. "T-typical..."

Chalice, who was silent through most of the ride back, spoke. "What is wrong, miss Natalie?"

I stared at the car's ceiling before replying, "The st-stupid bear is no u-use. They're isn't a c-clue anywhere."

He looked at me through the rearview mirror. "But you most certainly did find a clue. The dagger, of course. It must lead you to-"

Quickly, I interrupted him. "I....I can't look at it again. I just can't..."

His eyes stared at me, knowing what I must be thinking, before murmuring a, "very well," under his breath; we were both silent once again. It was quiet, but my mind never dimmed the questions that roamed through my muse.

Why did the clues lead me to this stuffed bear? Is it because of the dagger, or something entirely different?

But what's the whole point of looking for something that is entirely pointless?

Flying from left to right, my headache roared from the questions I couldn't answer. My hands curled tighter against each other as I winced quietly. Later, Chalice pulled into an opening between two pine trees and towards the bricked mansion. It seemed abandoned as I continued to stare at it, like a haunted house no one ever dared to step into. The lights inside were not lit and the house croaked as harsh wind pounded against its windows.
