So I looked back at my old book cause idk I look at past comments and also past chapters cause I don't wanna repeat anything 😂 And I have some thoughts about some things past me said. Meaning

**

1. Old opinion: No one in a kpop group is underrated or overrated
Okay now I do think that people throw the word underrated, mistreated, and overrated around way too much :/ and 80% of the time an artist is not any of those things. But sometimes it feels like an idol is underrated because of certain things.

For instance, we all love the hyung line in BTS. But compared to the maknae line they get less views often. I wouldn't call them underrated, cause let's be honest we all love them, but when you compare them to the maknae line it feels like they are on some levels.

Blackpink? It kind of feels like Chaesoo is underrated sometimes but that's mainly YG's fault imo because YG didn't showcase Jisoo's abilities or visuals until HYLT era imo. And Jenlisa is often marketed by YG more than Chaesoo sometimes. (I don't feel this now but I did especially during KTL era).

Loona... I love them but Vivi, Yeojin and Go Won lack promotions and attention by BBC :/ Vivi literally never has more than 6 seconds in a song and it's been since 2017-early 18 since they debuted together, three albums? Star was probably their fairest distribution but poor girl hardly gets lines. People assume she has the weakest vocals but her voice is precious 🥺 in this way I find her a little underrated. Cause nobody really talks about her :(

Bottom line I'm starting to think those terms do have meaning. Thing is, kpop stans now seem to throw those words around even when there's none of that. For instance, Tae, Jennie, Lisa, Jungkook. None of them are underrated. They are popular and well known. Everyone acknowledges their abilities and anything with their face on the thumbnail most likely has a lot of views 😂

I don't like to say overrated exists tho... cause technically if you think about it, it's the fans that make an artist overrated anyway by some solos hyping up their favs to a obsessive amount 💀 like I remember seeing a Tae+Jk  stan (maybe you see her/him on YouTube as Taekook lover 🤡), going on and on about how they are the hottest and most talented idols out there. This can lead people to find the two overrated just because of how this person crazily hyped them up.

And lastly of course mistreatment really does exist in kpop. But it ain't something as stupid as 'my fav got an ugly outfit... mistreatment...' Mistreatment is what Clc went through. How Cube locked them in their 'dungeon' gave them no world tour despite being a long running third generation group, no online fan meets, no light stick, no consistent comebacks, selling a song for them to Iz*One (LVER),throwing them to the side for G-Idle, having them try and put together money to see fans and tour. :(

Bottom line, all those things are real. But I still agree that some kpop stans throw those words around carelessly. For instance, I don't think Chaeryeong from ITZY is underrated at all nor is her sister. They are literally gonna be the best female dancers imo in fourth when fourth generation comes... the talent they have is insane. I feel like people only call them underrated because both have gotten crapped on for visuals by toxic people. But their talent is acknowledged a lot. It just may feel like they are underrated.

2. Old opinion: Groups shouldn't have more than 9 members in a group or less.
💀 what was I on?? Clearly I never tried to experience TBZ, Seventeen, Loona 😱

Big groups are powerful that's all I'm gonna say. My past self can stfu. I understand what I said... but tbh large groups aren't that unfair.

Seventeen has pretty fair distribution from the three songs I have listened to imo 😂 And in Home Run I'm pretty sure the members that were last were center a majority of the time so it was pretty even.
