Jaehyun
Turning off the stove, I took the pan with a holder and brought it to the dining table, pouring everything on top of the soup that was prepared beforehand.
"Oh, you cooked?"
Soyoung asked as she went down the stair and walked over to me. She looked around. "Daebak, you can cook!"
"Have your breakfast now before it gets cold" I told her and walked back to the kitchen. After putting everything in the sink, I went back to the dining area and pulled a chair to sit down at the other side of the table.
I woke up earlier than I expected. I couldn't think of anything I could do so I cooked. I found out that Soyoung's growing a garden of vegetables on the lawn and some ingredients were found there, so I did a little harvesting and cooked anything I could make out of the available ingredients.
We ate in silence, and none of us talked as we stayed on the opposite sides of the table. But here and then, I could notice Soyoung's frequent glance in my way. I pretended to ignore it but I gave up on her twelfth time.
"What is it?"
Surprised and embarrassed she quickly turned to her plate. Pretending to concentrate on eating.
"I caught you Soyoung. What is it?"
She shyly glanced at me. "Y-You just look so much like him"
Unfortunately.
After finishing my food, I grabbed the empty plates on our table and walked over to the kitchen to wash my dish. I was in the middle of washing when Soyoung entered, her plate in her hand.
"Give it to me"
She quickly shook her head. "Oh no, I can do mine"
Sighing, I turned to the plates before me.
How many hours have passed in my reality? Did Mr. Kang notice that I was missing? I should be back in Seoul in a week, we still have a recording schedule to finish.
"Yoon Oh"
I stopped and turned to her. "Just call me Jaehyun"
Silence settled over us again. Only the sound of the water and plates filled the whole room.
"J-Jaehyun" Soyoung started. "If you don't mind. What is your grandmother like?"
"Beautiful, kind, gentle. She sings opera and loves to spend time in embroidery"
Soyoung smiled. "I wish I could meet her"
I did the last plate and turned off the water.
"How about Min Seok? How is he? Does he still write?"
I froze in my place. I forgot to tell her. I wasn't able to mention anything to her, the reason why I'm here in the first place. I turned to Soyoung who was looking at me expectedly.
"M-My grandfather" I stuttered and looked away, afraid to see the look on her face as I utter the words.
"Min Seok, he's dead. He died two years ago"
Her plate crashed first to the floor before her body.
