Jaehyun

Soyoung and I went to visit the lake again to spend our afternoon there. Lola was sleeping in the living room and Soyoung doesn't want to wake her up so we left her inside the house.

"Jaehyun"

"Soyoung"

"Don't you miss your reality?"

I turned to her. "I do miss it sometimes. Why?"

Soyoung smiled and shook her head. "Nothing. I just want to know"

"Jaehyun"

"Soyoung"

She chuckled at my same answer. She pushed herself up from lying on my stomach to face me. She watched me, her eyes starting from my hair, to my forehead, to my brows, down to my nose then to my lips, and back to my eyes. Before she could speak I cut her off.

"I love you"

She was taken by surprise by my words and wasn't able to speak for a few seconds, so I tell her again. "I love you Kim Soyoung"

Soyoung smiled her eyes brightening. She didn't say any words in return but answered me with her lips.

Upon arriving, I immediately walked over to the kitchen to take out the things we brought with us inside the picnic basket while Soyoung walked over to a sleeping Lola on the sofa in the living room. After cleaning, I went over to them.

"What do you want for dinner—"

I froze at seeing Soyoung kneeled on the floor, crying in front of Lola. I turned to the cat and watched her. Her body's no longer moving. No signs of breathing.

Soyoung's cry filled the place as the clock on the wall finally stopped moving.

Lola's dead.

We buried Lola in her favorite spot beneath the tree. Soyoung stayed on the bed the whole day crying. Knees clutched in an embrace.

I walked over to her and sat on the bed. She turned to me.

"I had to lose Min Seok and now Lola"

"I know, I'm sorry," I said and pulled Soyoung in an embrace and let her cry in grief.

"It's okay. Everything will be okay. I'm still here"
