Jaehyun
After that day, Soyoung started to ignore me. She doesn't talk to me anymore. She doesn't stay in one room with me. She cooks her own meals. I've tried several times to approach her but she only walks away before I could even utter a word. She has also started to spend more time in the study, reading all sorts of science books. Always carry a pen and a notebook with her and scribbles now and then on it.
There were also frequent changes that happened these past few days. The slow peeling of the wall paint in the kitchen. The dead flower inside the vase located in the living room, or the clock on the wall which has started moving.
My final decision was to go back home. Leave this house, leave Gangwon-do and go back to the boys in Seoul. But after these past few days...
I'm no longer sure anymore.
I was in the kitchen washing my plates after I had eaten lunch when I noticed Soyoung was still in the living room. Writing something again on the paper. She's been skipping meals lately. Turning off the faucet and wiping my hands dry, I walked over to Soyoung who was sitting on the sofa and grabbed her pen, and took it from her.
"Yah!"
I stare at her. "Eat your lunch"
"I don't want to"
"Then use something else to write," I said and turned around, clutching the pen in my hand. Then suddenly something landed on my back. I turned around to find that it was the notebook Soyoung's been writing. I turned to her and raised a brow.
"You're still not getting your pen back"
"Why are you so damn annoying?! Why can't you just leave me alone?!" She shouted.
"I will if you stop skipping meals"
She scoffed at my answer. "What are you, my parents? I've lived for a long time in this place Jaehyun. Time doesn't move here, I can do whatever I want, eat whenever I want!"
It doesn't anymore Soyoung. Time has started moving in this reality days ago.
But instead of telling her those I crouched down and picked up the notebook she threw. I opened it and saw that it was notes, observations, theories, and calculations, of ways someone could travel back to another reality. I turned to her.
"What is this?"
Sighing loudly, Soyoung stood up from the sofa and walked towards the kitchen but before she could pass me quickly grabbed her arm and turned her towards me.
"What is this Soyoung? Was this what you've been doing for days now?"
She stared at me. "I'm helping you Jaehyun. You want to go home right? so help me and just stay out of my way" she gritted and pulled the notebook off my hand and walked away.
"Why?"
She stopped. She did not turn around but she answered.
"I can't let you stay here any longer Jaehyun. I've risked my heart once, I won't risk it again" she said.
"One Jung was enough, I don't need another one"
