Jaehyun

"It must have something to do with what's happening in your reality and in mine" Soyoung muttered as she sat on the swing.

We're currently in the garden, I was in the middle of reading a book when she called out for help. Soyoung wanted to rearrange the plants around the garden for this day. She said that it will just go back to its original place tomorrow but she wanted to see something new. I couldn't refuse and let her do it alone. So here I am, digging some plants off the ground to transfer them to another place. Lola watching beside me.

I planted the shovel on the ground and stood up straight.

"Why did you come up with such an idea?"

Soyoung shrugged. "There's always a trigger or something like a bridge. Just like my first meeting with Min Seok, remember the book? Maybe it must be something similar between our two realities"

"But you weren't playing the piano when I got here"

She stopped and thought for a moment. "You have a point. But I'm pretty sure it has something to do with your reality and mine that connects the two"

"Probably" I answered then turned to the garden. "It's done"

Soyoung squealed in excitement as she stood up and walked over to my side then turned to the new garden ahead.

"Oh my god! It looks so pretty, thank you so much Jaehyun"

I pulled the gloves off my hands and put the pair on the handle of the shovel. "You're welcome. It's just a waste though that it'll be gone by tomorrow"

She smiled and turned to me. "Then I'll very much enjoy it until midnight," she said then looked up at my face. "Your face is a mess"

"Oh," I said and grabbed the towel hanging on my shoulder to wipe my face.

"The dirt's on your—wait let me help you"

I was surprised when Soyoung suddenly grabbed my hand holding the towel to stop it, then took the towel with her other hand and started wiping my face. "You're spreading the dirt actually. You should just wipe it like this..."

I just realized that we're standing too close, too close for my own like. I could see the faint freckles on her face and the speckles of brown and gold on her eyes. Not mentioning her hand clutching mine. I could feel the softness of her skin and the thin fingers wrapped around mine.

"Don't smudge it like that or you'll ruin your skin—" She stopped suddenly, noticing my silence. She turned to me and her eyes widen at seeing how close we were then to her hand that was holding mine. She immediately let go of both and took multiple steps back.

"I-I..." She stuttered. She looked around immediately and then pointed to the kitchen. "I forgot to prepare refreshments. Excuse me" she said and ran off.

"Meow"

I turned to Lola who was now sitting in front of me. Staring at me again with those round eyes. As if she knew what I felt in those few seconds.

"I am not him Lola"

Lola just answered me with another meow.
