Jaehyun

After we talked and ate, I brought out the bottle of champagne and poured some into our wine glass. Soyoung's eyes widened at seeing it.

"You don't know?" I asked her.

"I've never checked the pantry"

I handed her her glass. She turned it around, lifting her elbow on the table and laying her head on her hand as she stare at the golden drink.

"You know what's missing?" I asked her. She turned to me.

"What?"

"Music" I smiled at her and offered her my hand. "Mind for a trip up to the music room?"

Soyoung took my hand and we climbed upstairs to the music room, carrying our glass of champagne with us. I immediately went to the piano, lay our glasses on the top, and opened the lid. Soyoung sat beside me on the stool. Remembering the notes and the lyrics, I started playing Paul Kim's Me After You and started singing.

너를 만난 그 이후로
사소한 변화들에 행복해져
눈이 부시게 빛 나는 아침
너를 떠올리며 눈 뜨는 하루

As I play I felt Soyoung's head lean on my shoulder.

식탁 위에 마주 앉아
너의 하루는 어땠는지 묻거나
나의 하루도 썩 괜찮았어
웃으며 대답해 주고 싶어

I stopped before the chorus. Soyoung turned to me.

"Why did you stop?"

I turned to her. "Let's dance Soyoung"

I grabbed her hand and we stood up, took her left hand in mine and guided her right hand to my shoulder, then laid my other hand on the curve of her waist. I sang the lyrics of the chorus, my voice replacing the silence inside the room as I stare at Soyoung. The two of us danced close to each other under the moonlight. Soyoung leaned her head on my shoulder as we sway.

나 이토록 사랑할 수 있었던 건

I ended the song and silence filled the room once more.

"I'm going to miss you Jaehyun" she whispered.

I came to this place with nothing but remorse for my late grandfather's will, thinking that I'd waste a whole week inside a stupid old house.

Stay there for a week, and you'll soon find it.

And I did. I found something greater than the ordinary, something greater than time and space. I found Soyoung.

I turned to my side and kissed her hair. "It's okay, I'm staying"

Soyoung immediately pulled herself away to look at me, surprised. "W-What?"

I smiled at her. "I'm staying Soyoung. I'm staying for good. I'm not going back"

I want to save this reality. I want to save you Kim Soyoung. I want you.

I took both of her hands in mine. "So please, open your heart for me. Don't be afraid"

Tears fell down Soyoung's face. I lifted my hand to wipe them off. "Be brave for me Kim Soyoung"
