Jaehyun
The walk home was unbearable. Soyoung and I walked back home staying on the opposite sides of the road, away from each other. Soyoung never spoke after that. I, myself too, was surprised by my actions. I mean, why in the fcking world did I do it?! I badly wanted to believe that I just got carried away with the moment, that it was just adrenaline that caused me to pull Soyoung.
But no. No matter how many lies I feed myself. I know the truth.
I'm falling for Soyoung.
As much as I hate it. It was the truth. I felt something in those mere seconds, felt something even greater at that moment when she kissed me back.
Upon arriving at the house—before I could even say a word—Soyoung immediately ran to the second floor. Sighing, I walked toward the kitchen and lay the basket on the counter. Lola poked her head out of the lid and stepped out. Stopped to stare at me.
"I did something wrong, Lola"
She only answered me with her usual meow and went off the counter to go somewhere she only knows. Got nothing left to do, I went to the back porch and sat on one of the steps, and waited for Soyoung to come down.
Soyoung didn't come down. It's an hour past dinner now and she hasn't come out yet to eat. Worried, I quickly climbed upstairs and went over to her room, and knocked on the door.
"Soyoung, you need to eat dinner"
I did not receive any answer. So I knocked again.
"I did something wrong, I'm aware of it. But please come out for dinner, I'll stay in the garden while you eat"
Silence.
I knocked again for the third time. "Soyoung I'm going open the door if you don't answer"
When I still got silence in answer. I turned the knob and opened the door to find the room empty. I walked over to the bathroom but it was also empty. I went out to the music room but she wasn't there too. I quickly ran over to the study when I found the door locked.
"Soyoung are you in there?!"
No one answered.
"Soyoung open the door! I need to know if you're okay!"
When no one still answered. I ran over to the door and forced it to open. After four tries, the door finally gave in. I stumbled inside and stare in dread at the current state of the room.
The study room was a mess. Books and torn pages have scattered around the place like they've been thrown around. The desk was turned upside down at the corner and the chair was thrown at the opposite side of the room. And there in the middle was Soyoung who was kneeling on the floor, flipping the pages of a book hysterically. I turned to where the journal was hidden but the spot remained untouched.
"Soyoung" I called while approaching her carefully. "Soyoung stop"
She shook her head. "No, I need to find a way for you to go home. You need to go home now"
"Soyoung, please. Your clothes are still wet and you still haven't eaten dinner yet"
"I'm fine. Just go away. You need to go home right? Then you're going home tonight. I'll find a way"
I kneeled before her and grabbed her hand to stop her. "Soyoung please"
"Just go away please" She cried. "I need you to go away" she turned to me, tears falling down her cheek. "You need to go home"
She pulled my hand away from hers. "I need you to go home"
Seeing the defeat in her eyes. I stood up and walked over to the door. Before walking away I turned back to her.
"Just change your clothes and eat dinner please. I'll stay in the music room," I said before closing the door behind me.
