You woke up the next morning to light filling your room. You pulled yourself out of bed to get ready for the day. You checked on your arm, removing the hankerchief and inspecting the wound. It was still a little blood stained, but it not longer hurt as much as it did when it was fresh.
You gently washed water from the sink over it, removing the dried blood and a few bits of the dead burnt skin from the edges. Filling the sink with fresh water you gave the hankerchief a wash, removing as much of the blood from it as you could until it was stainless, setting it aside to dry while you washed and dressed.
Your sword secured by your hip and the clean dry hankerchief tucked in your pocket you exited out on to the morning streets. Weaving your way through morning communters and early shoppers.
You had no set destination in mind, deciding you would take the time to sight see and wander freely without worrying about doing any requests from the guild, today would just be a nice, quiet, stress and fatui-free day.
"Ah, good morning" a familiar voice greeted, seeing Zhongli approaching you. You smiled.
"Good morning, Mr Zhongli" you replied "and what a nice morning it is"
He nodded, gazing out over the harbour "it is indeed" he agreed. He turned back to you, his eyes glancing towards your arm "your arm, is it better?"
"Ah yes! much better" you nodded, before quickly retrieveing his folded hankerchief "thank you for letting me use this, I cleaned it this morning" you offered out the hankerchief to him, but he simply held his hand up with a shake of his head.
"Consider it yours"
"But, I promise I cleaned it-"
He chuckled "I have no doubt that you did, but please, as a token of friendship" he smiled. You returned the smile as you returned the hankerchief to its place in your pocket, although you were sure he didnt want it back because a few hours ago it had your blood on it. "Are you heading anywhere special this morning?"
You shook your head "I was just planning on having a simple walk around Liyue" you shrugged "thought it would be nice to see the sights"
"If I may be so bold, may I accompany you? I am quite knowledgable on the areas and history of Liyue" he offered.
The company would be nice you thought, agreeing as you both started to wander together through the streets. Zhongli wasnt exaggerating when he said he was knowledgeable, in fact, maybe that was an understatment, he spoke of the history of Liyue as though he was the one who wrote it.
He told you of what used to stand where Liyue stood, of the battles it had faced and the wars that used to rage in the time of the archons prime, his stories made you appreciate the city even more.
"Whats over there?" you asked in a break of one of Zhonglis explainations, pointing out over the waters where a selection of islands could be seen on the horizon.
"Dont ask that, he wont stop talking if you start him on that place" a playful voice groaned beside you.
You jumped a little at the sudden voice, taking a few steps closer to Zhongli as you saw Childe standing next to you "The stories of Guyun stone bay are far too many for one day" Zhongli sighed "perhaps I can tell you them another time"
You nodded "Id quite like that. I never realised how much history this place had"
"You should visit Snezhnaya some time, that place has history to spare" grinned Childe.
You looked to Zhongli "ah, Snezhnaya is where Childe hails from, the land of the Cryo Archon" he summerised for you.
"Hey!" a new voice joined the conversation, yelling out angrily from above you "stay away from my friend!"
