When I arrive home, I tell Anna about Winter. "Yes, she is the Water Mage. I forgot she lived here." she says when I'm done talking. "Wait. You knew the Water Mage lived here?!" I ask.
"Yes, I knew where all the mages were located. The Fire Mage is in California, the Water Mage here in Illinois, and you were in Virginia."
"Oh. Okay."
Now I know where the Fire Mage is located. I wonder if she feel jealous or left out when she finds out Winter and I know each other. "Where we will we meet?" I ask. "There will be a ritual on the Elemental Island where you all will meet." Anna says.
"Interesting. How many places do the mages own? Do you guys have your own mountain, too?"
"We have many places. Yes, we do have our own mountain."
I give a small laugh. I head to the tiny kitchen that's in this apartment. I miss the natural space around my old home. Here in Peoria, there's not much open space or natural things.
I prepare myself a cup of noodles that are cooked by just pouring boiling water in the cup. Why can't we just bring the Brownies with us? I ask myself. They could make Anna and I a delicious meal.
I eat and then head to living room to sleep on the couch. I've gotten used to sleeping on a couch. Once I'm comfortable, I drift off into a dreamless sleep.

As I take my seat next to Winter the next morning, I whisper,"Do you want to come over after school?" "Sure." Winter whispers back.
"Great. Also can I have your phone number?"
She nods and scribbles it down on a piece of paper. She hands it to me just as the bell rings. I quickly add the number to my phone before my math teacher notices.
Winter and I text for most of the class, undetected.
So ur the Water Mage...right?-R
Yesss. And ur name isn't Iris. Isn't that right Rose. ;)-W
Yes ur right. How did u know?-R
Ur weird love of nature :P-W
Is it really that weird to love the outside world (¬_¬)ノ-R
LOOK UP!!!-WMy head darts up. Ms. Samo is walking toward me. "Miss Seyer, would like to share with the classb the messages you and Miss Rekam-Eohs are sharing?" she asks. The class snickers.
"Um...okay."
I quickly delete the first three texts and read what's left. "Your weird love of nature, from Winter. Is it really that weird to love nature, from me. Look up, from Winter." I read from my phone.
"Miss Seyer and Miss Rekam-Eohs, hand over your phones." Ms. Samo commands. We hand them to her open hands. "You will receive them at the end of class." she says. We nod.

At lunch, Winter and I spend most of the time talking. "I've mastered most of my spells, too." Winter is saying. "I've also gotten to see the headquarters we'll live in when we're full mages." I say.
"Really? What's it like?"
"Really natural. Really beautiful."
"What else?"
"There's these enchanted brownies that cook for the mages. All by their self. They just float around and use magic to cook."
"That so cool!"
"I know."
Suddenly the bell rings. "I guess it's time to go." I say. "Yeah. See you later." Winter says as she leaves the cafeteria.
I dump my tray and try to hurry. My fourth period class alternates between gym and music. Today I have gym. But it's on the other side of the school. It doesn't help that I've been here only a day.
Soon, the halls are empty. I'm definitely going to be late. I'm just about to push the doors to the gym, when a shock of pain goes through my head. I've been hit on the back of my head. As a result, I bang my head on the gym doors and black out.

I mostly update on days when I don't have school so don't expect chapters on a weekday. Keep reading and give a vote!
