"The Ugliness of a handsome Legend"

Chapter 51

Not long after someone called kenshi, and when he puts down his phone he looked at me.

“You gave right to Ethan, that lawyer to sign the divorce paper?” he asked with wide eyes, and those misty eyes that seemingly like he was about to cry.

“Mmm. I did, you said to not sign it by myself so I gave him the right. Your lawyer will also sign it since I already asked them to do so. Now that everything were taken care of, I will leave.” When I turned my back he stopped me by taking my wrists.

“Tell me a reason why, why did you divorced me?” He breathed and stopped himself from hurting me.

I turned around to looked at his amused face, “Fine, I will tell you. Whenever I saw you, I am furious that all those things occurred in the past keeps popping in my mind. My heart ached so much, I couldn't afford to sacrifice my life to someone who’ll not bring me happiness but only uncertainties of the world. You resulted me as someone who don’t want to love someone again. Those three months I…. never loved you. I admit I fell for you when I had amnesia but now that I knew everything I couldn't get myself to like and love you again.” When I finished my words he fell onto the ground putting his left hand over his face to not let me see him crying helplessly as he let go of my wrist slowly.

I continued, “Kenshi, you didn’t cherished all those times we were together, in the past you used to ask for divorce… now that I’ve given you your long life wish, I hope to see you happy.” Then I left him on the ground still crying.

Third Person Point of View

Kenshi gently wiped his tears, ran in front of the door to stop Sprill. He held her left wrist firmly, which she slowly turned her face to look at him then ask, “Why? Is my frank confession wasn't enough?” he even grasped her wrist strongly.

“What are you doing? Let go of me!!” because it hurts, she yelled at him. She formed a fist and forced Kenshi to let go of her. She went out the house and he followed her behind.

He looked  at her walking figure and said, “Why?” the only question he could ask.

She stopped walking then scoffed couldn’t believe what he just asked, she spins her head to him, “Is there any more reason why did I do that, aside the one that I already gave you?” she met his eyes, those eyes that once captivated her. Those eyes that she had been longing for to look at her… now… he had done that.

“I know, I know that you didn’t loved me… that was why I tried to atone my mistakes by doing all I could for whole three months. Weren't all of it enough?” He said with a convincing voice. Enough?

He continued, “The past is the past, there qas no way I could put the past in the present and change it. Didn’t I… am trying to be in your future? Then tell me, why, why, why didn’t you divorced me when things weren't like this? Why? Why didn’t you ask for a divorce the moment you remembered things? All those things… doesn’t it answer the question, ‘Do you love me?’” Sprill looked at him in terror like… what she had done were sort of like that…. It was like she was giving him a chance.

She took off her wrist from his grasp, “You don’t understand. My father told me the same way… but… since you believed that I am still in amnesia... why would I dare and broke it?” she reasoned.

“What are those things that I don’t understand? Then why did you gave me those three months? If you weren’t love me back then, then you wouldn’t have done that.” He shook his head at her.

She stood straight in front of him, “You said you will never love a slut woman like me… then why are you having confused mind especially right now?” he looked at her with gloomy eyes.

“That qas when I am not sure about you and I loved someone else, now that I broke up with her and I have confidence that I love you…. I don’t have any confused questions in my mind.” He said with one breath.

“Then are you telling me that I am just a replacement because you broke up with her?” She questioned with emphasis for each word.

“NO! The moment I confessed to you, I never thought of her…. Because in my mind…. My thought spins around you.” He vigorously shook his head, disagreeing about what she had said.

She raised a brow then breathed, “So you meant, you have a thought that you want to break up with Resa even before you confessed to me?” She asked with a trembling heart. Was her understanding of him were wrong?

“Hmm. I did, a lot of times. When I admitted my feelings, I am certain that what I felt is genuine.” He said having a bright eyes.

She nodded at him then approached with three steps away. “I understand. You did love me, but I don’t love you.” she lookee up to him. “My divorce paper had been sent out. It just needs your signature.” She shifted the topic and inhale.

He looked at how many steps they were away from each other and said, “Are three steps hard? Are three steps really hard for you to accept me? If you love a person… you won’t care about his past but his present and future, doesn’t it?” He unhurriedly said with a point in his sentence.

“Hmm, it’s hard for me to take that three steps and to accept the man who’s involved in my past.” She conceited.

He seriously looks at her, “Then I will take the risk and take the remaining steps.” He without hearing her, quickly approached her with no steps away from each other.

“Don’t accept that man, the man in your past, accept the man who wants to risk his life to be with you. That man in the past disappeared a long time ago, the man in front of you is the one… the one that will re-create your past.” Then he quickly grabbed her back and hugged her tightly.

‘I know that there was never been forever,…but my remaining days… I will spend them with you, because I vowed in our wedding that I will not let go of you unless ‘TIL DEATH DO US PART’.’
