The Beanie

Chapter 10

RAVEN GET UP!! LUCY IS HERE AND YOU ARENT EVEN DRESSED! THATS RIGHT, I SAW YOU LURKING NEAR THE FRIDGE IN YOUR PJS!" I heard Ash yell from downstairs. Ass, I thought I was ninja enough to not be seen when I got breakfast.

Sighing in defeat though, I quickly slipped on my white ripped skinny jeans, a plain black tank top with a cardigan over it, then jamming my feet into a pair of black and white converse. Scanning the room I spot my phone on top of Alex's beanie. Shrugging I pulled MY new beanie on and shoved the phone into my back pocket. Stumbling down the stairs I spot Lucy lazily sprawled on our black couch like she lived here. Her brown eyes met my blue ones and she instantly jumped to her feet pulling me out the door whilst saying, "About time! I called you before I left, 10mins ago! And you said you were ready!" I just giggled at her and shrugged. "Whoops"

"Alright, alright. I guess he's not that hot, but hey I'd still date him. Wouldn't you dinosaur..?" Dinosaur was, I guess my nickname from Lucy and hers was fruitloop. We've been best friends since grade 2, and apparently I'd always act like a dinosaur so that's how I got mine. Hers was, well, because one day we where having fruit-loops and Ash decided he wanted to scare us. I didn't get a fright since I was use to it, but he definitely got Lucy, and good! She spat out her cereal but also face planted into the bowl and when she lifted her head the fruit-loops were everywhere. Let's just say, she HATES the nickname but it just seemed to stick.

"Eh. Probably not, I prefer guys who understand the point of using a belt..." Gesturing to the guy with his boxers hanging out. I scrunched my nose up at it, it's just gross in my opinion. Lucy and I have always had different opinions but we still get on better then cookies and cream. We even dyed our hair dark red together once and dressed the same for a couple of weeks as "deceleration" of our forever lasting relationship. It was just for shits and giggles though. Now she has bleached blonde hair and wears the same clothes as me basically. Today she was wearing her up in a loose ponytail with a red bandana around the front, the same converse as me, cream coloured skinny jeans and a tangerine blouse. It may sound like a horrible combo, but Lucy can make anything work.

We walked down the streets passing a bunch of shops that didn't seem to catch our interest, arms linked and laughing like a couple of weirdos. "What do you look for in a guy then?" She asks innocently, her face showing a very curious expression. "I dont know. I don't really think about stuff like this, you know that fruitloop". She snorted in annoyance at the name but nodded in understanding and agreement. We never talk about guys, unless one of us like someone but even then it's 4 sentences max. "What about Alex..?" I tensed slightly at his name. "What about him?" She's now got me intrigued since he didn't have anything to do with our conversation.

"A little birdy told me that you's have had a few moments..?" She stated more then asked whilst raising an eyebrow at me. My face screwed up in disgust without me even having to do anything. "What has Ash told you? Because I don't even remember having a 'moment' with Alex..." Her face dropped in annoyance, because she probably assumes Ash was lying. "Nothing actually. Just that Alex insisted on looking after you the other night, about the whole 'The Walking Dead fiasco' as Ash liked to call it including the mark, tease and beanie. Oh and how you were wearing Alex's flannie the day he went on a date, he said he found it funny how you were wearing it thinking it was his" she finished her list and giggled at some parts. I just huffed and got a bit peeved Ash found out about how his best friend BIT me but didn't do anything. "There's more, isn't there..?" Lucy's voice spoke calmly and I know that she knew there was obviously more. "Yeah, there is" I said in a bored tone but knew she's not going to let me leave today until I told her.

Lucy pulled me to a stop and jumped onto a nearby bench, staring at me with persistent expression. I just chuckled at her and gave in straight away, since after all what happened between Alex and I, is just every day life and I have no secrets. So, I told her from beginning to end since the first day of the holidays, I gave her the details she wanted and even what I was feeling/thinking at the time because I wasn't embarrassed about anything that happens to me. I'd legit tell anyone anything they wanted. I don't lie when I say I am an open book.

After I finished, I just sat there a moment as I was simply waiting for her to let everything sink in. Lucy let out a breath as if she were going to say something calmly or make a simple comment. but, instead I was met with her face right up close as she SCREAMED in my face! "HE SAID THAT?! ALEX JORDANN SYKES, YOUR BROTHER'S BEST FRIEND SAID YOU'LL BE HIS ONE DAY?! AND THAT-" now pointing to the beanie on my head "-IS HIS BEANIE?!" I practically FELL off the edge of the bench. Lucy definitely caught the attention of everyone in a 50m radius of us. Yikes... Shoving her face away from mine, and regaining my previous position I answered her. "Yeah, why?" If possible her eyes widened even more. "WHY?! BECAUSE ITS OBVIOUS HE L-" Before she was able to finish, her phone rang. She picked it up quickly and was obviously about to tell the person off when she paused and listened to what they had to say. She nodded constantly, even though they couldn't see her. Finally she was able to answer back but only with a quick 'yep, thanks for calling when you did' before hanging up.

I was about to question her when she stopped me. "You know how we've always talked about getting those piercings we've wanted? What if we go get them now, Jess is in the shop today so we could get them done half price and re-dye your hair because honestly, it's annoying me that there is practically no colour in your hair".  She had a fair point, with all of it. I broke out into a large smile nodding vigorously and completely dropping the previous topic. I figure I'll just ask her another time...

Just realised i suck at remembering things... i was gonna say something about harry potter and my cousin but its almost 11pm on a school night and my dinner was a jam sandwich so yeh i need more energy for tomorrow... especially with hpe first up... geesh this wont end well x3
