Patchstar leaped on top of the big rock, green eyes shining. "Rose, come here," the orange-furred she-cat stepped lightly on the dust, "Rose, before you recieved your warrior name, you will be known as Rosepaw, Larch will be your mentor." Larch padded up to the she-cat and touched noses with her,
"don't be scared, I know you will be a great warrior." A grin showed on the orange she-cat's face, "thank you, Larch, you're already a great warrior." her blue eyes shining, "come on, I wanna show you something!" Larch tipped his head to one side,
"yeah? where do you want me to go?" Rosepaw paused, "just come on!" Larch followed her, and felt a surge of pride rush through his veins, this was his apprentice! and he was a mentor! he winced, knowing that this she-cat would be a warrior someday. Rosepaw stopped,
"I want you to teach me at fourtrees!" she mewed, flicking the tip of her pale pinkish tail. "O-okay, but we have to be careful." Larch reminded her, "I know, my mother told me!" Larch couldn't help but purr, his apprentice's tongue was as sharp as needles.
"catch four pieces of prey and bring them back to me." he ordered, Rosepaw nodded, "and don't cross the thunderpath!" Larch added. Petal followed the scent trail to Angus, anger made her nostrils flare, she found a smoky-black tom with red markings. "ahem," she gained his attention, "where. were. you?!" Angus backed away, "I-I'm sorry, I won't do it again." he promised.
Petal grew light and nosed him.
"I forgive you..." but she was broke off, Angus turned around. "Petal?" he meowed, after she panted she looked tired. "I-I'm fine, I need to rest..." Angus looked suspicious, "you looked like you were in pain."
"I'm not, I just need to rest." she assured him. Larch looked into the field, was it moving? Rosepaw appeared, "look Larch, I caught four shrews!" Larch took the prey from her jaws, "great job, you learn really fast." he complimented.
