Pond water

"it's okay really" she again had reassured the boy, just offering a sympathetic smile before looking down at her hands. Brown and blue stained her hands like paint, and she was happy it at least had been something sweet covering her instead of what it could've been. The quiet internal thought filled her with dread until she heard his plea again. "Please I really need to repay you... at least in someway."

She thought about it for a moment as she stared at his reddened eyes that just reminded her of a sad child. He had that pleading look that already just seemed hard to say no to. With the word itself being trapped in her throat she sighed and eventually gave in with a response of, "alright fine." That sad look of his just seemed to fill with a look of a hope.
She hasn't even known him long but, she just had already felt that it had actually been a genuine expression.

He felt bad for making her stay when she had wanted to leave but he didn't regret it. He didn't run away from her so, he wasn't gonna allow her to leave until he got her a replacement. He knew cakes weren't cheap nor was paying for lunch so, he just wanted to at least have a single win today by inviting her for dinner.

Was it a weird offer? Considering circumstances he didn't think so. He just hoped that his offer wouldn't seem that way either as he just tried to get the cake off his own fingers without wiping them on his uniform. Thankfully he didn't get too sucked into his thoughts as she spoke up again. "Is the school still open so we can clean up?" She questioned also trying to avoid damaging her uniform as she slid the cake off her hands and onto the pavement.

"If it's just before twelve, I think they'd let us in. Clubs don't really end until late." He spoke in thought hoping the case was still true.
"Okay then, let's get cleaned up."she stated as they went to go head towards the door to open it but it made a loud 'krclunk!' when she tried indicating it was locked. Of course the front would be locked at a time like this. He tried going to the side doors but that wasn't much help either.

He sighed thinking of where the gardener had usually attached his hose to help get water for the garden only for for his eyes to land on the pond where his book still laid in. As they sucked and tried to eat away at his journal he just gave in to the thought. "I guess pond water can help but... I don't think you'd want to wash your hands in a bucket, huh?" He asked just taking his slightly burned and soaked book out of the pond after he had startled the fish with his presence.

"A little pond water never hurt anyone. I would rather not have my uniform stained..." She hummed quietly just coming over as she gazed at the pond koi before back at the ruined book in his hand. "Do you... know whose book that is or, is that yours?" She had asked with a slight frown at the sight of the slightly ruined handwriting from the water damage."It's... mine." He decided not to lie about it, just looking through the damaged eaten away pages with his own soft frown. He at least was glad that the page of his hero costume stayed in tact decently well. He just had to hope the other pages had been savageable too.

"Let me see it. I can at least let it air dry faster." She had offered as she saw his expression fall again. Having washed her hands in the bucket she dried her hands off carefully on her tights before standing up to approach him again. Though he just shook his head at the offer as he rose his gaze, as well as his fallen expression. "It's okay, I kind of have to make a new one anyways. It's kind of burned." He shook his head dismissively just shutting the book.

She sighed quietly thinking that maybe that could've been one of his tipping points of today. She didn't get why having a quirk could be so important to him but she assumed maybe it was the feeling of worth. Some quirks weren't always the the most helpful but maybe he was the odd one out in his class. By the sounds of it he had been the only quirkless boy. She couldn't begin to imagine what that had possibly felt like. "Who burnt the book?" She asked suddenly as she lowered her hands to her sides.

"That was also just Kacchan if you remember me mentioning that name." He shook his head just shrugging as he just swished his head in the bucket for a moment. He just wanted to dismiss him for awhile, he didn't even want to think about him. He almost went through with his words and that just made internal anger set in his chest.

Why would you say something like that?
If I would've went through with it and succeeded, you'd be in so much trouble.

Not wanting to make her wait too long he dragged his hands through his hair and got rid of the dessert, just barely able to ring his hair out as it trailed and dripped down the back of his neck. He shivered in minor discomfort over the feel but she came behind him beginning to pull his hair back, just making him gain a tint to his cheeks over the contact. "Huh?"  "Let me put you're hair up so you won't smell like the pond." she offered mostly insisting as she showed him her hair tie.

"You don't have to, I'll be planning to take a shower tonight anyways." He had refused just trying not to seem as phased as he did feel but still, she went on with her actions as she smiled at him again. "it will be a little easier to manage" she reassured, lightly combing her fingers through his hair again, pulling his short curls back into a small little baby ponytail "Okay there you go."  she lightly smiled as a form of reassurance.

"Thank you, again." He spoke quietly just easing more, that genuine smile appearing on his face again for her. Uraraka's heart hopped at the sight again but, more for the joy of success than anything else. "No worries... What's your name anyways?" She asked softly out of curiosity, though she understood if he didn't want to tell her. Though he had no problem just humming out "Midoriya." knowing better than to say his nickname. Admittedly he kind of missed having his regular name used by someone else other than his mom.

"That's really nice and it matches... Well you!" She lightly giggled genuinely happy about getting to hear his name. Green valley... Well his hair certainly did feel like one. Dismissing the silly thought she introduced herself back. "My name's Uraraka." A peaceful day... Well she kept the atmosphere calm enough for it to feel that way. "That's a nice name, almost reminds me of those Sanrio characters." He smiled at the thought, not the slightest bit afraid to admit he knew of such.

Thankfully she didn't take offense to that, having just playfully rolled her eyes at the mention. "I guess but I don't think I match those exactly." She lightly beamed before distancing herself from him. "I'm going to go now though Midoriya. It was definitely interesting meeting you."
