Blame game

The sweet gesture that the boy had tried to present through his basic letter had actually taken him much longer than he initially expected it would. He actually had spent half his night thinking about how he should exactly word his sincerity. He would usually pull all-nighters for studying and wake up the next day no problem but, with this letter? Yeah no, he dreaded sounding like a total martyr complaining about being quirkless. Even if his mind had embedded that term as a reason why everyone rejected him, surely those other 'normal' people dealt with the situation better than him. Nonetheless, all the constant rewriting led to the boy falling asleep later than his usual scheduled time. He could've stayed up a few more hours until school started and maybe he should've considering that by the time he woke up he barely had time to make sure he looked even the slightest bit presentable. The poor kid didn't even have his backpack with him, having left it on the roof the day before. Coming into class without it would surely make him look like a fool to his teachers but, what else is he gonna do? He just planned to check into class before heading to the roof to retrieve his things then later fixing himself up in the bathroom before returning to class. That was the plan, that's just how things were supposed to go.

That's how he would've preferred it.

The green-haired boy would hang his head as he tried to catch his breath, having ran a few blocks just to actually be present for his first-period class. He was lucky that the door was held open for him by the hall-monitor who took sympathy on him just because he looked exhausted. Hoping his teacher would take the same pity on him, he knocked on the door before opening it."Sensei I apologize for the intrusion, I'm just coming to let you know that I'm here but I need to-"Midoriya take your seat. I will talk to you after class." his teacher would cut him off, his tone being harsh as it usually was when it came to late coming students. Speaking of students, his classmates practically had their eyes glued on him the moment he opened the door. Seeing the others slowly beginning to murmur, he felt anxiety set in his chest as he slowly shook his head. "I-I'm sorry sensei but I need to get my backpack, I just wanted to check in with you first before I go get it." He spoke apologetically, having flinched upon a classmate humming out, "Oh wow, he really is gonna try again isn't he?"

Excuse me?..

"Probably, he has an audience this time." another had spoken up, causing Midoriya's stomach to twist in a knot over the words being said. Sure, his classmates were usually subtly harsh but this joking banter mocking his failed suicide? This was a different level than what he was used to.

I don't understand how they know... There is no way someone else saw my failed attempt. It was just us in the area, no one else even came up to either of us!

"Would you two shut your mouths? Apologize to Midoriya right now!" a different student would call to his defense, making Midoriya blink in confusion.

"Oh? like you were so nice to the Deku in the first place? You were one of the ones mocking him! Don't play innocent."

"Kid tries to kill himself and suddenly your all switching up. Some real damn hypocrites..."

"Atleast I never convinced him to actually go and try to kill himself!"

"And I did? Grow a damn spine and own up to the fact you feel bad so now your playing some white knight!"

Midoriya couldn't even believe what he was beginning to hear as he stared at his classmates actually arguing over him. That one boy was right, these people suddenly yelling to his defense are  hypocrites. They never were stopping or defending him before so, why now? The teacher would rise from his seat, raising his voice to try and stop the conversation but it only advanced. The noise would start to become white static for Midoriya who was scared stiff in the doorway, his breath actually being caught in his throat as his vision began to blur.

Take a swan dive over the roof of the building...

Just take the damn swan dive-

Why did I have to fail?

The male was abruptly ripped away from his forming panic attack by two of his classmates, having taken advantage of the teacher being distracted to take Midoriya all the way down the hall before bringing him straight against a locker. Despite not really being familiar with their names at all, he was familiar with their faces. Both of them had been Kacchan's friends. Just great, what was this going to be about? "Hey Dek- I mean... Midoriya. You didn't actually try to commit because Bakugou told you to,, right?" The brunette questioned only to be harshly nudged by his raven haired friend chewing on his cigarette. "Of course he did, why else would he do something so selfish if he hadn't done it before? Bakugou finally pushed him." "Can you shut up Senago?! I'm not talking to you!" "Well then don't ask stupid questions! Get to the point!" They argued with eachother making Midoriya's fist ball up, as he quickly grew tired of the two arguing.

"Look just-! If you dare say some shit about us, we better not be taking the fall for Bakugou! He's the one that said something, not us!" "But we also didn't help or scold Bakugou for doing it either though.." again the brunette would interject, starting  --yet again--  another argument that started to become physical. Huffing, the male slid down against the locker just beginning to sneak away, just deciding that maybe today wasn't the best day for him to be in school. Midoriya was never one to skip school or even think about breaking the rules when it came to his school attendance, even if someone would've as so much as offered to skip with him he would've just said no. Today however, had different circumstances, and he was going to use that as his own pink slip.

He didn't bother to wait for the boys to stop fighting, nor to even go to the roof to retrieve his things. He basically had just said screw it and deciding to go through with his initial earlier plan.

He was gonna make sure Uraraka got her cake as well as his letter.

He was over this.
