Max's POV
"What the hell were you two thinking." I yelled as I stared angrily at her dad. She covered Tommy's ears with her hands. "Well first watch your mouth. Second, we had to get Tommy and Sally back." She defended their actions. I was close to shifting but I held my composure, for now.
"And how is bringing him here going to help us?" I asked. Her dad was smirking at me and that only angered me. "Well he's good at sneaking into places undetected. And he's a hunter." She said. I rolled my eyes did she not just hear that last statement she made. "That's why he doesn't need to be here." I replied as she looked at me.
"If I find out where their holding him in two days will you consider my help?" Her dad asked. I thought his offer over in my head, before I answered. He couldn't possibly find were their hiding him in two days. Could he? It wouldn't hurt to see if he could do it. "Two days." I said as I stared at him with narrowed eyes.
He stuck his hand out for me to shake it. I hesitated before I shook his hand, sealing the deal. He grinned then turned to Robin"I'll find your little mate." He said,I could here the disgust in his voice when he spoke about Micheal. I didn't know weather it was because he was a werewolf, or because he was a boy. Father's never really liked for their girls to have boyfriends.
It was obvious that he cared for her. I believed people could make a change for the people they love. But I still wasn't to kin on trusting him. "Travis, make sure he has a safe leave off of our territory." I told Travis. He said good bye to robin, but she didn't respond to him. I shook my head as he tried to hide his pained expression.
Robin and Tommy stood in my office, they haven't left each others sight since they been here. Sally and her mom are the same way. But we still couldn't celebrate, because of Micheal. I growled lowly as I thought about those rogues. I would kill them and it would be nice and sweet. I grinned as I thought about revenge.
"Uh..Max. Why are you smiling like that?" Robin asked snapping me out of my thoughts. They were both giving me looks as they stared at me. "I was just getting lost in my thoughts." I replied as they sat down in the seats across from my desk. "If he finds Micheal what will we do?" She asked. I'm pretty sure Micheal wouldn't want her in this mess.
"Micheal wouldn't want you doing anything. He'd rather you be home safe while we rescue him." I explained, while looking at some files that were on my desk. "Then why train me? Why put me through that much work and then don't let me do anything." She yelled,as I organized my files. I knew she wouldn't take my decision well.
I looked up at her as I picked up a ball on my desk."Look Robin," I threw the ball from one hand to another "you and Nehaeh are human. You can't do what we do. It can get dangero-" I stopped mid sentence as she threw a knife towards me. The knife flew into the ball just as I threw it past my face. "Your wrong I'm a hunter and that's not classified as human." She said arrogantly.
"Nice aim. But don't try that again." I said sternly,as I pulled the knife out of the ball. She did have an impressive aim I'd give her that. But Micheal still wouldn't want me to let her fight beside us. Sure she's better than allot of the wolves in combat. But she was still a human and Micheal's mate.
"Micheal would'nt want you to fight. But it's not like you listen to me anyway." I said as I watched a smile form on her face. "So I'll take that as a yes then?" She asked,I nodded as she stood up. The phone started ringing as they left my office.
"Hello." I spoke into the phone.
"Alpha Gavin?"
"Yes this is he." I replied in a monotone voice.
"This is the alpha of shadow pack. We heard about the problems you've been having, and wanted to offer our help if you need it." The other alpha spoke.
"Thanks for the offer if we need help I'll give you a call." I replied.
Looking out the window I noticed that the sun had started to set. The day had went by so fast and I hadn't even left my office. On days like this I wish I had a mate. Someone to take my stress away and I don't mean sexually. Just someone to make me smile when I did't want too. I sighed as I ran my hand through my hair.
Truth be told I was jealous of Micheal. He had what I wanted and longed for,a mate. And I planned on reuniting him with her soon. A part of me wanted Robin's dad to find him. We had every pack on the alerted and on the look out. But none of them seen or heard from the rogues. We didn't even get a ransom note from them yet.
It didn't matter anyway they wanted Robin and Tommy and weren't going to get them. So a fight was what they were going to get.
Robin's Dad (Andre) POV
Watching a group of rogues talk, I listened. Night had already came and I had successfully stalked six groups of rogues. But none of them had what I was looking for. My daughters mate that thought still disgusted me. I had to tolerate it for my daughters sake. If I wanted a relationship with her again I'd have to tolerate a lot of things.
I sat in a tree above them, scent masked, and in all black. I smelled just like the forest around them. Rogues were worser than the regular werewolves. They had been speaking for hours about nonsense. It wouldn't be long before I ditched this group and went to another. But decided to stick around for a bit longer and think.
She ran away on one of my drunk days. So I wasn't aware of that fact till I sobered up. It hurt like hell when I lost her. I changed that day,I took myself to rehab and sent the police out looking for her. Sadly they never found her and a part of me knew they wouldn't. She was a hunter,so hiding came natural to her.
I never stopped looking for her though,I refused to stop. If I did stop looking for her I'd never be whole again. I needed her to forgive me,she didn't have to forget but just forgive. I didn't have her mother with me,but I did have her. Our father daughter relationship is probably over now.
When her mother died I picked up the bottle to ease my pain. I did things when I was drunk, bad things. I'm not proud of abusing my daughter but that was the past. I've changed for her. I won't even drink anything but water. Robin saved my life and she doesn't even know it.
I shook those thoughts away as the rogue said something that caught my interest. I smirked, that mutt didn't know who he was making a deal with.
