Robin's POV
My heart was beating loudly against my chest as I ran up the stairs taking them two at a time. The adrenaline was pumping through my veins as I turned a corner.A loud blood curdling scream had me stopping in front of the door.Micheal made the first move and opened the door,I followed behind him.
The site that I was greeted with had me stopping dead in my tracks. The room was trashed and Tommy was lying in the middle of it.His face was bright red and coated with sweat, and maybe some tears.I made a move for him but Micheal stopped me."Micheal.Move.Now!" I yelled trying to get past him."Robin he's going through a shift. And by the sounds of it it's his first shift, meaning it's dangerous." He said in a serious tone.
"What do you mean by shift?" I questioned nervously. He sighed,"Robin,he's not a human you were right." He said, while staring down at Tommy's shaking form.I stood speechless as I stared at Tommy, his eyes had darkened slightly.I inhaled and exhaled slowly,I was really starting to get stressed out.
"Micheal..is he going to be okay?" I questioned,my voice cracking at the end.I tried to hold back my tears but it wasn't working."Robin..." He embraced me in a tight hug"it's going to be okay. Please don't cry." He said, while stroking my back gently."I'm suppose to be the one taking care of him.How I'm I going to help him through this?." I questioned.
"You don't have to do it alone." He said quietly.I didn't have time to reply to his comment, because another painful scream left Tommy's mouth.I covered my ears trying to block out the screams."We have to take him outside." Micheal said, stepping away from me.I nodded my head as I watched him walk over to Tommy,He picked his shaking form up.
All I could do was watch helplessly as Micheal carried Tommy out of the room. Everybody was watching curiously as we walked through the house.Max was standing in the backyard waiting on us."A shifter that doesn't give off a smell.Never thought I'd hear about one,now I'm seeing one." He said causally, sounding calm as he looked at Tommy.
"I'm going to have to do a lot of reading and researching." He mumbled to himself."Is he going to be okay?" I whispered out, eyes trained on Tommy's sweating form."He's going to be okay.Kids shift at his age all the time." He assured me.I sighed lowly in relief.
I screamed as Tommy's arm suddenly bent at a awkward angle. He screamed loudly as the pain hit him.I could see the broken bone that was visible through his skin.He stretched his other hand out for me.I started towards his shifting body with my hand stretched out.But before I could get to him Micheal stood in front of me,pushing me back.
I narrowed my eyes at him,"Micheal move." I said through clenched teeth."Robin I already told you that his first shift could be dangerous." He said in a calm voice, his face was emotionless and unreadable."I don't care he needs me.So get out of my way." I gritted out, trying to push him out of my way.
I pushed harder on his chest but he wouldn't budge."Robin please stop fighting me.I really don't won't to have to restrain you!" He warned,in a pleading tone.I must have had slits for eyes by now.My eyes snapped to Tommy as he screamed in pain as his leg bent back."Robin..it..hurts...
please..help..me"Tommy choked out through his tears.
His plea had me fighting harder against Micheal to get to him.Which caused Micheal to wrap his arms around my arms and pin them to my side.I kicked and screamed against him, while Tommy was screaming in pain.I fought harder when I heard bones snapping."Let me go now!" I screamed out."Robin trust me it's for your own good." He said softly.
I scoffed loudly,"Trust you!I hate you!Now let me go." I screamed, even though I regretted what I had said. Some how I knew it affected him.I guess it was because of the way he tensed up when the words left my mouth.
