Robin's POV
"We would get there faster if we all shifted." Max said before he shifted into his wolf. I rolled my eyes. Did he forget that we couldn't shift like him?
"What about the rest of us?" I asked, gesturing towards Akemi and my dad. He proceed to roll his eyes at me before kneeling down in front of me.
I shook my head and backed away from him. I only road a wolves back once and I didn't want to make a habit out of it. He nudged his head on me trying to encourage me to get on. He shook his head and walked over towards Akemi.
I watched as she backed up nervously as he approached. My mouth dropped open when he gently brushed his head against her. He couldn't be,could he? It was possible because he didn't have a mate yet. My eyes went wide when he licked her face. Oh, he was defiantly her mate.
"Yeah I don't think so." Akemi said as she hide behind me. A low growl left Max's lips as he looked at me.
My dad sighed."We have no choice." He said as he hopped onto chad's back. "Think of it as another way to get back to Micheal." He added.
Now that got me moving. I hopped onto Travis's back and motioned for Akemi to do the same. She shook her head as she turned away from Max.
"He's not going to hurt you." I said as I jumped off of Travis. I walked over to Max and awkwardly petted his head.
"Look,Robin I know I said I would help you but-
"But you haven't got used to the idea of werewolves. I get that but I'm telling you Max is just like an oversized puppy." I interrupted her. She raised her eye brow at me.
"A puppy?"
"Let me show you." I pulled her hand onto Max's head and he instantly start growling lowly under her touch.
"Is that a good sign?" She questioned as she continued to stroke his fur. I could tell that she liked it because she was smiling the whole time.
"It means he likes it." I said as Max knelt down for her to climb on. And to my surprise she got on his back. I smiled as Max gave me a wolfish smirk.
"You should think about holding on." I told Akemi as she looked at me.
It didn't take us that long to get to the border of were the rogues were stationed. I could feel Micheal as we got closer to him,I wondered if he felt me too. I felt a hand grip my arm and turned to face Akemi. They just made a stop before we attacked. Max wanted them rested up and fully feed.
"We need to talk." She said as she pulled me away from the group. She had an unsure look on her face as we stopped.
"What's wrong Akemi?" I asked as we sat down on a log in the forest. She sighed before speaking
"I'm having these weird feeling for Max. And I shouldn't be having them because of the situation that were in." She confessed.
She was right now was a bad time for talking about having feeling for someone. But if my instincts were right that would make her Max's mate. "I think you should follow through with your feelings." I responed. She looked shocked at my response.
"Wow I really have to meet this Micheal. Because he's turned you into a emotional girl." She said as we both started laughing.
A twig snapping in the bushes stopped our laughing. I pulled a silver knife from my belt. The bushes started to move more and more as we got closer. With our weapons drawn we waited for the attack. Two flashes of fur jumped in front of us with their ears tucked down.
