"It's just... It's hot in here. Too many people and... my jacket." I chuckled nervously. Those kids would get me in trouble. Why did they find it so amusing that Sigi might or might not have a girlfriend?

"Take it off, then," my father replied.

So, I took my dark brown jacket off even though I wasn't feeling hot at all, just bothered by what those kids had said. I just hoped that none of them pointed at me or made it public that I was the one they were referring to. My father should not know!

The timeout was over a couple of seconds later, and the match went on. However, Dawn's new strategy failed again since Shell could anticipate all of their movements. Sigi seemed to be angrier and angrier. No more goals were scored against Dawn, but I knew that wouldn't last long.

Dawn's hormonally-imbalanced, female groupies were disappointed. I was getting fidgety. The Dawn's fans that were seated all around us were getting on my nerves with their angry comments, frustrated sighs, and grunts.

"I'll be back in a few minutes, dad," I whispered seriously as I stood up.

"Where are you going?"

"I need some fresh air." I walked away from him and went for the stands' stairs.

Once there, I aimlessly went down some steps, and I sighed while I stared at Sigi and his fluid yet sharp movements on the court. I could tell he was desperate. The small wheels of his roller skates shrieked and seemed to spark like firestones whenever he skated too violently.

He needed to win that match, or else his coach might not give him a second chance. Well, I wouldn't if I was a self-important git who would rather base my opinions on guilt by association. It wasn't Sigi's fault that Ray had got accused of being a rebel and executed for treason.

When I reached the last step, I sat down there, all alone. Sigi's eyes and mine locked briefly then. I hoped I was not distracting him.

"Sigi!" a little girl yelled. "Ask your girlfriend for a kiss! It'll bring you luck!"

Having said that, the audience went wild with laughter. Even Shell's groupies and the players themselves were either laughing or giggling. My cheeks had started to burn as vividly as my red tank top. That was when Sigi got a brief glimpse of me, and I blushed even harder.

After what had happened the previous night between us, I couldn't help it. I felt attracted to him. However, Agape had forbidden it.

But more embarrassment was on its way, mainly because Shell's superstar, K, came skating to Sigi to tell him something. He was so mysterious with that black helmet and black face mask! Why was he wearing those anyway? His comment must've been something cheeky, nasty, and obscene since Sigi's reaction was abrupt and defiant. I was too far away to make out their words or read their lips.

More kids insisted on a kiss, and I would've rather died than kiss Sigi in front of a large crowd of angry hockey fans who meant nothing to me, a murderous-looking Momo, a baffled father to whom I had ensured I had got no boyfriend. What I had told him earlier that day was just a sarcastic comment – and it was flying its way back to me, ready to hit me in the head like a freaking boomerang at karmic speed.

Then, Sigi faced me with his eyes aflame, skated a bit towards me, and signalled me to come to him with his right index finger. He did so in a way that was bothering me in a hot way. I panicked and silently mouthed 'no', making a stern face.

He seemed to hesitate for a couple of seconds, he sighed, and then he insisted while mouthing a breathless 'please'. I bet that he hadn't realised that my father was there. I came alone the previous week, why should it have been any different that Friday?
