"This is insane!" Momo yelled at Sigi. The heated attitude emanating from her whole self matched her fiery hair colour.

We were all gathered on Amanita's dance floor that Wednesday late evening, standing by the bar. Only some dim lights were on, intensifying the vibes of distrust and weariness I was getting from the group of people around me.

"Stop complaining about everything, Momo," Sigi replied with tiredness. "When it comes to Daphne, you're always like that. It's getting boring already! Besides, she's got nowhere else to go."

"We are NOT sharing our home with her! And I'm NOT sharing my bedroom with her!" she went on. Her aggressiveness and pride weren't hurting me anymore since I had seen them coming from a mile away. "You have to be kidding, Sigi! After what she did! Besides, she's a kittenish, stupid flirt!"

Yes, I threw the palaeoviruses into the Neon Sea, and Taro had to fish some samples out of the toxic water. Yes, I had defied Agape, argued with her, made her angry on account of how I felt in terms of her ethics and the purpose of her group of rebels. And yes, I had requested a "special treatment" only an hour before, as she had put it.

Momo and my haters –Vera, Nemesis, Taro, and Sven– resented me for all the above reasons. Only she, Momo, had an extra reason to hate me to the core, which seemed to be of utmost importance to her – because I was a 'kittenish, stupid flirt'.

Therefore, I wasn't in the mood to talk or make any specific demands. Anything I might just say would automatically be misunderstood or read as a way to get things my way. I was too tired – and broken inside. Sadness was a raging tornado inside me at that moment.

"We will take her in, Momo," Cian replied with both his well-built arms over his chest. "She's a rebel and has got no family left, just like the rest of us. So, stop complaining already."

Agape was the only one sitting, on a stool, leaning her back on the bar, and awfully quiet. I distrusted that kind of quietness coming from her. I could tell she was staring at me intensely even though those mirror glasses shielded her eyes.

"Can't we just... put her somewhere else?" Sven complained. Taro and he were making the same stern faces while glaring at me.

"Dude! What do you mean by 'put her somewhere else' like she's an object?!" Gabi complained as if he had been personally offended.

"We don't like her, and that's not up for discussion. We, the girls, don't want her living with us – and that's final," Momo added with defiance. Vera and Nemesis took an awkward glimpse at each other, and they were also awfully quiet, which didn't quite sit well with me.

"One girl remains here," K8 suddenly said while taking a step forward, with assertiveness and an amazing couple of pink-glowing eyes, "and I'd be delighted to share my room with Daphne. If you don't mind, that is, ma Agape."

She had turned to check on Agape's reaction, deliberately ignoring the mean sneers from the rebels who hated my guts – who also hated hers, by the way.

Agape sighed, and with that, she seemed to let go of all the tension she had been holding. She stood up and came to stand in the middle of the group.

"K8, you're very generous, and I thank you for that. You should learn from her," Agape replied to all our haters with a forefinger aiming at them. "Daphne shall share the bedroom with K8, here, in Amanita's basement. Now, I don't want to hear any more complaints about anything remotely related to this – or her. Is that understood?"

Everybody nodded. Despite that, Agape didn't look satisfied. That was when she turned to me and said seriously:

"I'd like to go over what happened a few minutes ago in Peace Square, if you're up for it, Daphne. I find it most unnerving. We've seen it all on TV, and I am awfully sorry for your loss. But I've got some questions I'd like to share with you before you go and get some rest if that's OK."
