Chapter 17

*Lucy POV*

When I woke up the next morning, I was cradled im Ashton's arms. His face was peaceful as he slept. He looked like an angel, he was beautiful, then again he always did. I loved waking up next to him every morning. I carefully moved around so I could slide out of his arms and out of our bed without waking him up. He moaned quietly and shuffled around in his sleep but didn't wake up. I supressed a giggle that was threatening to tear through my lips, I really didn't want to wake him up; he can be such a grumpy ass. As quietly as I could, I grabbed one of Ashton's singlets and pulled it over my body. My stomach rumbled so I made my way down the stairs to make myself some food, unplugging my phone from the charger as I exited the bedroom, my earphones in my other hand. Plugging them into my phone, I went through my playlist until I found If It Means Alot To You by A Day To Remember. I smiled when the opening cords started up. I remember back when Luke and Michael did a cover of this. How time had flown since then. I put some bread into the toaster and turned on the coffee machine whilst I absentmindedly hummed along to the song, singing a little as I did. This song brought up memories of when I first met Ashton, he had been singing this exact same song...

*4 years ago*

This was my 4th job in 5 months. I couldn't afford to be let ago again. I needed to pay myself through college and keep paying my half of the rent for the apartment me and Alicia were living in.  I took my place back behind the cash register at the counter of the cafe. I had a few customers so I painted a smile on my face so that none of them could realise just how much stress was getting to me.

"Hey, what can I get you today?" I looked up to see the most gorgeous boy I had ever laid eyes on. His dirty blonde curly hair was pushed back with a black bandana to stop it falling into my eyes, his eyes that were a extremely perfect shade of green. They were captivating and stole my gaze and I felt the air leave my lungs momentarily.

"I-um... Can I get you something?" My throat felt dry and no amount of saliva would hydrate it again. The boy chuckled slightly before glancing at the menu behind me.

"Yeah, I'll have a caramel frape and a donut from you please, gorgeous. I felt my cheeks going red as I priced everything up. He was smiling at me and it was one of the most amazing sights I had ever seen. He had dimples that were so prominent that I wanted to poke them just to see how deep they really were.

"That will be $4:66 please" He handed over the money and I handed over his change before he went to find a seat to wait for his order.I dealt with rest of the customers before Alicia came out from the back, her brown hair flowing behind her as she came to man the cash register.

"Lucy! I think someones interested in you" Alicia called over to me, only loud enough for me to hear her. I glanced back over to bandana boy to find he was staring intently at me, a small smile on his lips. I looked back at Alicia and smiled. A bell rang behind me signalling that an order was ready. I glanced at the order number and it was his. I began to hyperventilate.

"He's gorgeous. And his order is ready now... oh god what do I do!" I asked her frantically. She just laughed at me and her whole demeanor remained calm.

"Just go over and talk to him. Stop being afraid. Remember, hold your head high, we can conquer anything" She smiled at me and I hugged her before making my way out with his order. My confidence began to slip slightly the close I got to him.

"Here's your order. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask" I smiled at him even though my voice was shaky. He took the cup of coffee from me and our fingers brushed. It was like electricity had past through me and I pulled my hand back slightly. His eyes met mine and his bore the same shock that I was feeling. He blushed and looked down at the table, smiling shyly.

*Present time*

That had been the first time I had seen Ashton and it certainly wasn't the last. He came into the coffee shop regularly after that, almost everyday, ordering the same thing. One day he asked me out to ice cream with him and I agreed. That had been the start of what we were today. I smiled at the memory and pulled my toast from the toaster before spreading vegemite on it. Sleeping With Sirens was now playing through my earphones and I lightly swayed my hips to the music as I poured a cup of coffee. I turned around and nearly dropped the cup of coffee I was holding. Ashton was stood in the doorway, running his fingers through his disheveled hair.

"Shit, Ashton you scared me!" I placed the food and coffee down and placed my hand over my chest to try and calm my irratically beating heart. He looked at me and smiled, still sleepy. I pulled my earphones from my ears and turned off the music.

"Sorry baby, I heard you singing and you know I love it when you sing. I came down and you were just dancing and singing so I was watching you..." He trailed off, seeming embarassed.

"There's nothing to be embarassed about. I'm sorry if I woke you up" He just shook his head and came over to me. I wrapped my arms around his torso, being careful of the bandages and rested my head against his chest. My phone went off so I let go of Ash and went to go and see who wanted me. It was Alicia asking if she could come over. I obviously told her she could. Placing my phone back down, I laced my fingers with Ashton and took him over to the kitchen island where my breakfast was still sitting, forgotten until now. Ashton picked the toast up and began to eat it so I got up to make some more. Alicia arrived not long after that. She seemed somewhat panicked and lost.

"Alicia, are you okay?" She looked at me and I could see she was visibly shaking.

"I don't know... Me and Michael... We nearly kissed last night."

A/N

Sorry to leave it on a cliff hanger and I'm so sorry I didn't update for two days. I had writers block when it came to wording the chapters. I know exactly where I want to go with this now so here is the update and I hope you like it. I am thoroughly enjoying writing this book and I really hope you guys believe in me and think this is worth your time. I PROMISE I WILL UPDATE TOMORROW ILY GUYS SEE YOU SOON <3<3<3
