Chapter 34

*Lucy POV*

After the UK tour, time just seemed to speed up and before I knew it, I was a week before my due date. I had been experiencing heartburn so I called the doctor and he told me it was quite common in the last few weeks of pregnancy. We were back in Australia and me and Alicia were backstage in the dressing room waiting for the boys to come back off stage. I was hungry, as usual and grumpy. My stomach felt wierd but I put that down to the amount of food I had been eating and how much Ashleigh was moving now. Her kicking and movements had become a regular thing until eventually, she was kicking every day. I wasn't nervous about giving birth, I just wasn't looking forward to the pain I was going to have to endure but all the pain in the world in the end would be worth it, just to hold a little, female version of Ashton in my arms. Ashton had argued point blank with me on this, saying he hope Ashleigh looked more like me than him.

"Aliciaaaaa" I dragged out the last syllable of her name for no apparent reason, I just felt like it.

"Whaaaaaaaaat" She replied, plonking herself down next to me on the comfy sofa which I was lying across. I grabbed her hand and pulled it into my line of sight, so I could see the ring that was residing there. Me and Alicia had begun the wedding planning whilst the boys were doing shows and attending tour meetings. I sat up and pulled Alicia with me so we could watch the reminder of the show from the side of the stage. We walked, or waddled to the side, watching the boys dance around whilst they performed What I Like About You. I smiled when Ashton caught my eye and looked down, blushing. Even after all these years of being with Ashton, he still made me blush and feel like a 12 year old going down the first drop of a rollercoster. Alicia began to say something to me but I was distracted by a sharp feeling across my stomach. I thought nothing of it but then I felt the water trickling down my legs. My waters had broke.

"ALICIA! MY WATERS JUST BROKE!" I screamed, holding my stomach. My contractions were very spaced out but I needed to get to the hospital before they became more regular, because that would mean it was time to start pushing. Alicia's eyes grew so wide, I thought they were going to pop out of her head and roll along the floor. She turned to the stage hands and told them she was going to run onstage. She waved her arms, trying to get on of the boys attention whislt I breathed in and out, Adam appearing next to me.

"Lucy, her. Squeeze my hand." Alicia explained to Adam that she was going on stage and he let her. She bolted onto the stage, running directly for Ashton who looked shocked at her appearance. The crowd roared when they saw her and another contraction hit me and I screamed and squeezed Adam's hand, surprised he didn't screma or that none of his bones broke with the force I was crushing them. Alicia ran towards the front of the stage, Ashton in tow. Ashton said something in Michael's ear and took the mic whislt Alicia explained something to Luke and Calum.

"Alright guys, we're really sorry for this but we need to cut this short." The crowd booed and I felt so guilty. Alicia ran towards me then and pulled me on the stage towards Ashton. I gripped his hand the moment I was near him and squeezed it as another contraction rippled through me. Adam took to the stage then as Alicia and the boys all surrounded me.

"Lucy has just gone into labour guys so the boys are going to need to end the show here, I'm sure you'll all understand and I will arrange some more dates for you to see the boys." Adam sounded guilty but it was nothing compared to the guilt I was feeling. Michael stepped forward.

"Sorry guys but we have a baby on the way! Uncle Mikey to the rescue!" The crowd laughed and shouted good lucks before we all rushed off stage and out of the venue where there was a couple of cars already waiting to take us to the hospital. We clambered into the vehicles and Ashton shouted at the driver to start driving, obsenities falling from his lips. I laughed despite the pain I was in and Ashton gave me a strange look.
