The Johto starters: "The most boring starters!"

The person who requested asked for me to defend typholsion and feraligatr, I just thought I'd throw meganium in here as well because, let's be honest, meganium needs the most defense out of these three. 

Let's start with Typholsion. Typholsion is the most popular starter to ever exist (let me just explain that quickly). Other starters like greninja and blaziken which are more popular are deemed overrated (because they are) and therefore causes some people to hate them. Typholsion is the most popular because it has received the least amount of hate for any starter to exist. However, that doesn't mean that people don't have criticism for this pokemon. The complaint I hear the most about the cyndaquil line is sadly one that I agree with, it is the most bland starter to ever exist. This is very true to me, compared to feraligatr and meganium, typholsion lacks a lot of personality. However, why this starter is so good is because there is nothing controversial about its design and yes it does look awesome. I'm honestly pretty torn about which starter I would choose, but a while back it probably would have been cyndaquil. 

Next is feraligatr. There isn't a lot I am going to say since most people like feraligatr, although the minority thinks he looks ugly and goofy. No, my boi feraligatr is great and fun. Not many people hate him, he isn't overrated, there really isn't a lot to say. It's a pretty good pokemon in all aspects if you ask me. 

Last but not least (surprised I said that?) is meganium. Why do we hate it's design? It looks cute. Maybe they could have made it look more...battle ready? Yes, this pokemon sucks in competitive battling, but so does decidueye (who is one of the most popular grass starters) so just quit having that problem.   It's design is not that bad, not every starter has to look angry mk? There is absolutely no reason to hate this pokemon, its not perfect but its not terrible. Also to people who say that meganium's line is bland, are you saying that typholsion's line isn't bland?
