"Took you that long?" Schlatt hissed, sounding amused. Dream felt frozen in place as he stared at the supposedly dead man.
"You're dead," He said after a moment.
"And?" Schlatt tilted his head, his strange ram horns glistening in the sunlight.
"Why... why are you here?" Dream said, trying not to sound afraid.
"You'll figure it out eventually." Schlatt shrugged. Why do dead people have to be so ominous? Dream thought, annoyed. Wilbur was the same when he was dead, Dream still didn't understand fully what had been going on with him, and based on that he wasn't sure he'd be able to understand Schlatt.
"Can't you just tell me and leave?" Dream said, glancing around to see if anyone else had stayed behind. He gritted his teeth as he realized it was just him and Schlatt. "Why can I see you but I couldn't see Wilbur?" he asked after a moment.
"Because I'm more powerful." Schlatt snorted. "I've changed, Dream," Schlatt insisted after a moment.
"Yeah right," Dream growled.
"You've hardly changed, I see," Schlatt observed.
"I've changed quite a bit, thank you very much," Dream knew Schlatt was just trying to annoy him and he was even more annoyed that it was working.
"Those visions are still there though," Dream stiffened as Schlatt mentioned his nightmares. "It's only a matter of time before you kill another innocent soul." Schlatt paused, turning to stare at Dream directly. "Or maybe even Tommy." He shrugged.
"I'm never going to kill Tommy, you don't know me!" Dream snarled, clenching his fists.
"I'm afraid I do," Schlatt said, locking eyes with him. Dream refused to listen to him anymore and turned around, making for the door. "You can't just leave, Dream." Schlatt said. "You can't escape me." He hissed. Dream shuddered and slammed the door behind him, suddenly feeling cold as he headed away from his house. He half expected Schlatt to be following him but when he turned around to check the ghost was gone. Thank goodness. He thought, quickening his pace as he noticed something up ahead.
"Why do you hate me!" Someone was yelling. Tommy. Dream thought, rolling his eyes. He could just make our Tommy and Technoblade facing off where they'd been training a few hours ago.
"I don't hate you," Techno insisted, sounding annoyed.
"You keep secrets from me and you've tried to kill my best friends repeatedly!" Tommy snarled. Dream headed towards him and Techno glanced at him once he spotted him. He still looked annoyed but at the same time, there was worry in his eyes.
"Tommy, I don't hate you. I'm just busy a lot, you need to understand-" Techno started.
"No, I just don't understand!" Tommy said. He didn't look up as Dream halted a few paces away from the fight. "You care about Dream more than you've ever cared about me!" he yells.
"That's not true and you know it," Techno says defensively. "Dream just needs help sometimes and I help him, am I not allowed to help my friends?" He said.
"That's not what I'm saying." Tommy sounded frustrated. "I'm your brother but you call him a brother the same as me!" Tommy said. "He's not our brother, he's our friend."
"I never said he was our brother, I remember you saying that not me," Techno said, glancing at Dream again.
"I don't want you guys to fight over me, if I'm a problem just forget about me," Dream said after a moment. Tommy turned, seeming to notice he was there and scowled.
"That's not it, Dream," Tommy said. "Why can't you guys trust me? If I remember correctly, you two are the serial killers, not me," he added sarcastically.
"Fair point," Techno said. "That's all a fair point, but you have to realize we're adults and you're not, we don't have to tell you anything if we don't want to. We'll explain when you're older." He promised. Tommy opened his mouth to protest but Techno interrupted him again. "If it helps, we didn't tell Wilbur either."
"I get it now," Tommy said. "It's because I was loyal to L'manburg isn't it?" He said, nodding slowly.
"Tommy, there's no reason besides the fact that we don't need to tell you," Techno said. "Unless you want some more battle practice, I'm going to see what everyone else is doing," Techno said before turning around. Tommy turned to Dream, his eyes filled with anger.
"Aren't you going to follow your brother?" He sneered, crossing his arms. Dream let out a sigh and followed Techno, earning an even angrier glare from Tommy.
"He's just being a gremlin child." Techno snorted, rolling his eyes.
"I know," Dream said. "It doesn't matter." He added.
"So, why were you inside so long? I've been yelling at him for just under an hour now," Techno asked.
"I saw Schlatt," he said. Techno's eyes widened and he said nothing. "He said he's changed." He shrugged. Techno looked at the ground, his brows furrowing in thought.
"Huh..." he shrugged, looking back up.
"I mean, he wasn't threatening me or anything." Dream said. "He was just talking, being annoying." He added.
"I'm gonna go do something, forgive me if I'm wrong." Techno turned around again and headed away.
"What?" Dream called. "Forgive you for what!" Techno didn't answer and Dream let out a sigh as he wandered away, back towards the house. Oh nevermind him. I'm going to find Sapnap and George.
