heartbreak

    It was around midnight and Andi was still sitting on her bed in tears. Sam and Harry were with her and they had just called Kate and Justine for her. Soon, they came with hot chocolate, chocolate, and mac and cheese, as Kate suggested.

"is she okay?!" Kate asked. Before Sam could say anything, the two girls ran to her.

"okay, I'm just gonna get to the point," Justine started. "Andi, honey, he wasn't worth it. He-"

Andi threw one of her tissue boxes at her. "he's my best friend, why would you say that?!" She cried, then leaned onto Sam's shoulder, who hugged her. "and we're not broken up, we just got into a fight. I just-" She sighed. "we had fights before but- but not this bad." Kate gave her the mac and cheese and a spoon, in which Andi shoved a big scoop in her mouth.

"look," She started as soon as she swallowed. "just like our other fights, we'll get through this one." She paused to think. "that is if I knew what he was upset about."

Kate sat down in front of her. "he won't tell you?"

"no." Andi answered quietly, looking down at her hands. "but you know what, it's alright. If he wants to be upset with me for some random reason, then fine." She stood up and stomped out of her room, leaving her friends in there. They all looked at each other with wide eyes, wondering what just happened.

"he didn't say anything about it, at all?" Andi asked through her phone the next day.

"nah. And he won't open up to anyone, even Finch!" Spot replied. "but I know somethings been bothering the kid, he's been out of it lately.

"how about when he found out?" Andi heard Jack chime in.

She furrowed her eyebrows. "found out what?" She wondered, speaking slowly.

Jack climbed on top of Spot to see the screen.

"dude, get off of me." Spot complained. "I already gave you an airpod to listen."

"hey Didi, did ya tell Elmer 'bout some guy you've been hanging out with lately?" Jack asked her, ignoring what Spot said.

"Anthony? Or Jess? 'Cause I told him about them."

Spot raised an eyebrow. "what about Sam?"

"Didi makes a lot of guy friends. Do you think she's used to having guys around 'cause of us?" Jack asked himself, looking up.

"I told him about Sam. I tell him everything."

"he told us you didn't tell him." Spot stated.

"I-" There was a pause. "oh my god, I didn't tell him!"

"how could you not?!"

"I- I don't know, I thought I did. Fuck, I messed up, didn't I?"

"big time." Jack chuckled.

"jeez, thanks dipshit." They saw Andi blow a raspberry through the screen. "what did he say?"

"he got jealous... and intimidated."

"shit, I need to talk to him."

Andi hung up from Spot and called Elmer. It took a while, she had to call two times actually, but he finally picked up.

"hey, I need to talk to you." She said close to a whisper.

Race, Albert, Finch and Elmer were all fooling around, at Albert's, when Elmer's phone went off.

"who's that?" Race asked, then got a ball thrown at him. "hey!" He turned to Finch, who had an innocent smile on his face.

"it's Andi."

"ANSWER!" Race, Albert and Finch all yelled in unison.

"no!"

"why not?!"

"'cause we're fighting!"

"look," Albert started and clicked his tongue. "if you wanna be petty, then fine. But both of you are gonna lose the best thing that happened to y'all."

Elmer's phone went off a second time and this time, he answered. "hey."

"hey, I need to talk to you."

Without another word, Elmer left the room, leaving his friends confused.

"they ain't gonna break up, right?" Race asked.

"of course not, they're Andi and Elmer." Albert replied and sat on his bed.

Finch sat beside him. "what happens when they do though?"

"they won't." Albert stated.

"will Andi come back here if they do?" Race wondered, concern in his eyes.

"they won't breakup."

"how do you know?"

"I-" Albert sighed. "I don't. I'm just scared that I won't know what to do if they do breakup."

Albert, Race and Finch are both Andi and Elmer's best friends in the whole world. They couldn't even imagine what they would do without one of them. Let alone what they would do if they made them pick sides. No way can they do that, ever!

While Elmer talked to Andi, all the three could do was hope and pray that they won't breakup. They've been in love with each other for so long and they just got together. Nothing could ruin it now. They're together, the universe wants them that way, it won't do anything to ruin them.

After the longest twenty minutes ever, Elmer came back into the room. He was looking down and he looked like he was about to burst any moment now.

"E-Elm?" Albert asked quietly.

"we broke up." He said so quietly, it was barely heard.

Andi let her phone drop from her hands and fell to her knees. She and her boyfriend just broke up.

Andi and Elmer broke up. It happened, it actually happened. The one thing that, probably, no one in the whole world saw coming.

Andi and Elmer broke up.

She felt like she just lost a big part of her. No, scratch that; she did just lose a big part of her. Her best friend for eleven years, gone because of a fight. The very thing that she was afraid of happened.

Finally, she processed what just happened and broke down in tears.
