When Andi walked out of class, Jess was at the door waiting for her.

"hi...?" She trailed off, confused.

"they posted the teams, come on." He motioned for her to follow him, which she did. She followed him all the way to the cafeteria, where the lists for the volleyball teams were posted. Jess scanned the Varsity boys' list, looking for his name. Andi stood shyly behind him, nervous to look at the Varsity girls' list.

"yes!" He exclaimed. "and I'm a starter." He boasted and turned around to face Andi. "what, need a lift?" He teased, making her laugh.

"no, it's just that-" She sighed. "there's no way I'm making the team."

"Tilly, you're-"

"have you seen the girls at tryouts? They're amazing an- and th-" Suddenly, the two heard Alannah's booming voice.

"I can't believe she made it as a starter over me. I've been a starter on Varsity since year eleven, then she waltzes in and replaces me!" She ranted to Kate and Justine.

Kate ran up to Andi. "hey, congrats on making the team!"

Andi's eyes went wide. "um-" She chuckled. "thanks." She smiled and Kate went back to the ranting Alannah. Andi jumped when she felt Jess tap her shoulder.

"hey," He called and Andi turned to face him. He was pointing at the list.

VARSITY GIRLS

Andi Ferrari : left side (starter), libero (secondary)
Justine Contreras : left side (starter)
Alannah Page : left side (secondary)
Kate Lacuna : setter (starter)

(the list is longer obvi but i'm not showing everyone)

"look at you, starter." Jess hyped, making Andi smile.

"I made it." She said, shocked.

"you're an amazing volleyball player, Tills." He complimented.

"thanks."

After school, Jess went to Andi's house so they could study for their upcoming pre cal test. After Jess' annoying phase, he and Andi became pretty good friends. (oh btw this is a time skip to october)

"food!" Andi yelled and walked her room, where they were studying, with cookies. She set them down in front of Jess and ran out again. She then came back with two mason jars of iced coffee.

"coffee?" Jess asked, raising an eyebrow.

"iced!" Andi replied, sat back down and gave him one of the jars. Safe to say, they did very little studying. Most of the time, they were just goofing around. When Jess threw a cookie at her, Andi thought of Crutchie, who always throws cookies at Spot. God, she would do anything to see his smile in person again.

"hey, you got crumbs on my paper!" She complained.

"you aren't even writing anything on it." Jess stated and stuck his tongue out. He then noticed a cork board with pictures pinned onto them. So he stood up and walked towards it, looking at every single picture. Andi then came up behind him.

"friends from New York?" He asked.

"yeah." She answered. She then pointed at one of the pictures. It was taken after Spot's homecoming football game, that they won. Andi was on Spot's back, wearing his second jersey and his helmet.

"that's Spot. He's usually glum and dumb, but I always find ways to make him smile." She stated with a soft smile on her face.

"Spot?"

"our group has a thing for nicknames." Andi clarified, in which Jess nodded in understanding. She then pointed to the next picture. This one was of her, Race and Albert. She was in the middle of them and none of them were ready for it.

"the red head is Albert and the blonde is Race, two of my best friends. They're amazing and just- the best." She said and laughed. She pointed at every single one of her friends and told Jess who they are. This lasted for a little more than five minutes.

"and that is Elmer. My best friend since forever and my boyfriend." She explained.

"how long have you two been together?"

"umm... almost a year." She answered. "but we always celebrate the day before, so we say something like happy almost one year, and I don't know, it's weird but that's how we roll and..." Andi slowly trailed off, noticing that she was rambling. "I'm... talking to much... am I?"

Jess let out a light chuckle. "nah, but we should uh- we should get back to studying."

"you're right." Andi nodded, so the two sat back down on the floor and continued to study. About two hours later, Jess closed his book and stood up.

"hey um, I should probably get going."

"oh yeah, of course. I'll walk you out." Andi offered.

"it's fine, thanks.." He denied and made his way out of her room. "and uh, bye."

"bye." She replied quietly.

The weekend later, she met Harry's twin brother, Sam, and their best friend, Harrison. But he likes to go by Haz. Sam was awkward and Andi could admit, it was pretty funny. What made it funnier was Haz making fun of him. The four were now walking around the city and talking. Andi and Haz instantly clicked and they were talking each other's ears off. When Haz told Andi he's never tried iced coffee, she dragged him into the first coffee shop they found.

"-but, iced coffee's are like my life right now. They're so good, I've never had them before." Haz said to his phone, intentionally mocking Andi.

"are you mocking me?" Andi asked.

Haz turned his phone to film a shot of Andi. "maybe..." He trailed off, in which Harry and Sam laughed.

"hey Andi, what school do you go to?" Sam, who was now walking besides Andi, wondered.

"Westwood Academy." Andi replied.

"ooh." Sam reacted and hissed, in which Andi chuckled

"crummy time for you too?"

"with Alannah Page around, who wouldn't have a crummy time?" Sam answered. "good luck with her, I think she's your age actually."

"she is. And I see her almost everyday."

"really?"

"yeah, and she's always on my ass about this guy who I'm friends with, 'cause she likes him, and volleyball's no fun with her." She told him. "you know, someone quit the team after she yelled at her and she made two girls cry at a tournament."

Harry laughed. "typical of her. When we were there, a girl dropped out because she was so scared of her."

"he," Sam motioned in behind him to Harry. "was terrified of her. She even made him cry once and Tom stayed with him the whole night." He informed and turned around to see Harry giving him a glare.

"does she scare you?" Harry wondered.

Andi shrugged. "nah."

"how?"

"once upon a time, a girl- who I'm friends with now- Gia Quinn.." Andi then told Harry, Sam and Haz about her old enemy back in New York.

"boy was she a lot of work. She still is actually." She finished. The four then decided to get food considering what time it was and when the last time they ate was. Andi spent the rest of the day with them and they promised to make sure that she'll do just fine in London.
