school and the universe

    Andi was doing her chemistry work when she felt a tap on her shoulder.

"hey Anthony, what's up?" She asked. Anthony Hart is the starting left side and captain of the Varsity boys volleyball team. He and Andi became friends off of Jess and Andi now helps him with chemistry.

"I'm uh- totally lost, can you help?" With that, Andi turned around and put her paper on his desk.

"sure! So basically you have to use stoichiometry to convert this," She circled one of the reagents in the chemical formula on his sheet. "into this," She circled one of the chemical products in the formula. "in grams. If it helps, I like to make a little road map just so I don't forget anything."

Anthony chuckled. "road map?"

"yeah, I learned that from Mendoza last year. So," She then wrote down;
gCO2 —> molCO2 —> molO2 —> gO2
right beside the question. "see, now you know the steps to get what you need." She smiled.

"and Mendoza taught you that, when?"

"last year." Andi answered. "he was my teacher back in New York too. It was just this whole scary coincidence that he moved to London and started teaching at Westwood." Suddenly, Mr. Mendoza came up to the two.

"Matilda, Anthony, is there anything wrong?"

"we were just talking about how scary it is that we both ended up here at the same time." Andi replied truthfully, but with a sarcastic smile. Her teacher then gave her a stern look and crossed his arms. "I'm helping Ant with this question." With that, he walked away to check on the other students.

"I'm pretty sure you're the only one in this class who's not scared if him." Anthony remarked.

Andi scoffed. "please, I'm surprised he didn't give me detention yet."

"do you want me to give you detention?" Mr. Mendoza suddenly chimed in, making the two jump.

She clicked her tongue. "nah, Jack ain't here. I can't get detention without him" She replied. He then let out a quiet chuckle before going back to his desk.

"I'm assuming you got detention a lot back in New York." Anthony told her.

"and it was all from him." She pointed at Mr. Mendoza reading a book. About twenty minutes has passed and soon, they were dismissed. Before Andi could get too far, Anthony and Jess came up to her.

"hey Tilly." Jess greeted.

"you should come with us." Anthony stated as they walked down the hall.

"where?"

"a diner across the school. My mom owns it." He replied.

"I- I don't know. I have something to-" Before she could finish, Kate ran up to them with Justine and Alannah following.

"hey, is Andi coming with us?" Kate wondered.

"she said she-"

"I'm coming." Andi answered, in which Anthony gave her a look.

"great!" Kate beamed and they started to walk down the halls.

"you had something to what?" Anthony asked with a smirk.

Andi laughed. "it can wait."

    "okay, but think about it, what if we were all twins and our twin is in a different planet? So there could be two Kate's in the universe, two Justine's, two Jess'," Kate babbled as they walked into the diner.

"Kate, if there were two Jess' then the universe will explode." Andi joked and Jess faked a pout.

"do you think the universe wants us together?" Kate asked and memories flooded Andi's mind. "and Andi must've moved here to stabilize the universe that was all shaken up while she wasn't here."
