this is what the tournament is called by the way

It's been a little over a week and Andi was starting to feel better. She started hanging out with Kate and Justine more often at school and sometimes out of school as well. She didn't tell anybody about the breakup, except Spot. Usually it would be Elmer who she goes to first, but that option's not available.

She was glad that she had somebody to talk to. She felt like she'd be a complete mess if she didn't have Spot. For reasons unknown to Andi, she was scared to face Race, Albert and Finch. But they're her best friends as well, why would she be scared to face them? It was this small part of her that thought that they'd be angry with her. It hurt her to think that about three of her bestest friends in the whole world, but she couldn't think of it any other way.

But until she sees them again, Andi will push that small thought to the bottom, non functioning part of her brain.

"they don't hate me." Andi whispered to herself. She pulled out her phone and opened snapchat to text Albert. But she didn't type anything. She just stared at the screen. This went on for two minutes before she turned off her phone and put it down.

She took a shaky breath. "they don't hate me." She repeated.

"inter-counties, baby!" Jess exclaimed and ran down the halls with the rest of the Varsity boys team behind him. The Varsity boys and Varsity girls volleyball team had both made the regionals tournament after a long season. When Jess passed by Andi, he stopped, letting the rest of the boys run down the hall.

"you guys made inter-counties too, why aren't you jumping up and down?" Jess asked her.

Andi shrugged. "I'm used to making it into big tournaments, I guess." She replied non-enthusiastically. She and Jess' attention was then turned to Alannah, who was handing out flyers.

"Varsity girls inter-counties. River Town Community Sport's Centre. February ninth to the twelfth." She stated and handed somebody a flyer. "this is our year, you will not regret it." (another made up place don't come at me.)

Jess clicked his tongue. "we take big tournaments seriously here, come on." He put an arm around Andi and the two walked down the hall. "Varsity boys and Varsity girls volleyball! Inter-counties, River Town Community Sport's Centre, support us!" Alannah stared at the two before crashing into somebody.

"sorry." She quickly apologized, keeping her eyes on Andi and Jess.

Andi and her teammates were sitting in their designated team change room. They were getting ready for their first game and everyone was excited.

"alright, this is our year people. We're going to win this tournament!" Their coach stated and everybody cheered. She then checked the time to see that they were starting soon. "alright we gotta warm up. So let's make the boys jealous. Let's go!" With that, everybody ran out of the gym to warm up.

"you excited?" Kate asked Andi.

Andi took a deep breath. "I'm kind of nervous. You?"

"I'm a mess." Kate laughed.

"we're gonna do great." When they walked into the gym, Andi couldn't believe what she saw. Spot, Albert, Race and Finch. All there. Maybe the three of her bestest friends weren't angry with her after all. She them dropped her bag and ran to them. When she reached them, she first engulfed Albert in a hug.

Andi pulled away. "what the fuck are y'all doing here?" She asked, smiling widely.

"we felt like ya needed us." Race replied and hugged her next.
