I'm Okay - Corpse Husband

Apparently, Corpse had fallen asleep for at least an hour. The movie was over and the TV had automatically turned off from innactivity. Poki was no longer with them, she probably had left to sleep at her room but... why didn't she wake them up to do the same? 

Corpse was so confused about the situation he was in that he didn't even think about the fact that Rae was sleeping next to him.

He slowly turned his head over and took a look at her. He couldn't see much since there was literally no light source in the hole room but he still could distinguish the outline of her face and body. It was a bit of an awkward situation to be in.

When he finally started to move to get Rae off his shoulder she reacted pretty quickly by wrapping her arms around him. His first thought was that she was fake sleeping and she was trying to prank him but she didn't react with anything else than a soft grunt when he tried to speak to her. Now he really didn't know what to do.

-Rae? -He started again, softly - Rae? We need to go to sleep.

-Mmmm... -She replied again, barely conscious - I don't... want to...

He giggled a little at her childish response and went again.

-Why not?

- I... want to spend... -She took a deep and sleepy breath- more time with you...

He was a bit shocked at her response and blushed a little bit. He... didn't know how to respond to that. What did she mean by that? How did that... make him feel?

Rae had becomed his best friend in just a year. They had expended so much time together and pretty much went through a very hard year for everyone talking every single day. She had been there for him and the other way around aswell.

Meeting her in person was something that he was really looking forward to and it was a bit of a disappointment that they didn't get to talk as much as they wanted.

-I... want that too.

Rae snapped out from sleeping after hearing that, she didn't remember when she had fallen asleep, but she did remember a general idea of what she had replied to Corpse in this semi-conscious state she was in. She would usually get really embarrassed about being so soft in front of his friend but his response to what she said had her really impressed. She wasn't expecting such a reply.

-Wait, What? -She said quickly, looking at the dark figure that was in front of her, since neither of them could really see eachother

-Huh? -Corpse responded, a bit surprised at seeing her so awake all of the sudden - Wait... were you actually fake sleeping?! -He said a bit louder, being more embarrassed than mad.

-What?! No! -She said, a bit flustered.

-Liar! -He replied, starting to chuckle a bit more.

Both of them started relaxingly laughing while they both took a moment to think about the situationg they were in. Finally, Corpse replied.

-Well, I meant that... I would also like to spend more time with you, Valkyrae. -He couldn't avoid to giggle a bit at that last part.

- Yeah... me too.

Both just stayed still right in front of eachother. There was something in the air that made them want to be closer together, even closer than now. Rae placed her arms over Corpse's shoulders and around his head, Corpse wrapped her in a soft hug around her waist. They slowly pulled eachother closer and closer until their faces were an inch apart. They could feel eachothers eyes even when they couldn't really see them.

Rae wanted to go for a kiss. She truly did, but even when the situation was screaming for it, she still knew Corpse couldn't take his mask off and she wanted to respect that at all costs. She slowly leaned her head over to him so their foreheads were pressed against eachother. She closed her eyes and just wanted to stay there, feeling him as close as she could.

Corpse kissed her, directly on the lips.
