Turns out, Umi couldn't avoid the man, or the cold that she had unfortunately caught.
It was her first time doing that sort of exhausting exercise, and they did it with a spot far away from her bed. Yes, both of them couldn't be considered as full-bloodied humans but Umi, who was not used to strenuous workouts all night long, couldn't help but to only admit that she might have overestimated herself.
Earlier this morning, Umi, after her frenzy episode, was immediately snatched by a number of girls she was only barely familiar with. They helped her bathe and put on several beauty products on her face and skin that Umi even contemplated whether she would be able to get out of the tub without shedding several layers of skin. She was then dressed for the occasion this afternoon by those girls who were somehow giggling all the time for who knows what reason.
Umi didn't pay much attention to what the girls were talking about for them to giggle like that nor the reason for their reddening faces, as she was in a daze basically the entire time. She didn't even have the proper state of mind to properly notice her surroundings. Her mind was clouded with thoughts about last night that she was hardly able to recollect how she got on this platform that she was standing on the present moment, well, not until her dazed condition has been forcefully awoken as she caught sight of the man whom she had contemplated to stay away from.
Had she been sleepwalking all this time? The hectic events earlier today lead to another one and Umi couldn't keep up until she had realized that she was about to say her wedding vows to this man before her.
Yes, wedding vows.
Having been reminded once more of a particular conversation that she had with this certain male lead the previous night, Umi berated herself for the nth time for her helpless decision-making skills. This is one of the reasons why she needed a manager because her brain can't be fully trusted to properly function all the time, especially when her focus was on something else.
"May I wed you tomorrow?" The man asked in between kisses while carrying the woman in his arms towards her bed.
"Bed? Yes, bed."
The man chuckled. "Let us marry tomorrow."
The woman wrinkled her nose, already impatient to rest on the bed. Well, it's not like she'll be dead tomorrow for marrying this man, at least that's what she thought. "Yeah, sure. Now let me sleep."
Umi didn't know whether to cry or laugh.
She had perceived this crisis a little too late! She couldn't resist thanking her selective memory loss once again, as she had only remembered that wedding proposal of his just as she had already set foot on this platform, and in front of this man!
Zevlin, unlike her, is relatively composed for his own good, much to Umi's dissatisfaction. If it wasn't for the fact that he is a human, Umi might have to compare him to a golden retriever with the way he is behaving excitedly while taking a gander at her with those golden eyes.
Peeling her eyes away from the male lead who was standing dangerously close to her, Umi turns her head to glance around and her frown deepens almost immediately.
The public's reaction to Fae's change was just about as wild as Umi had hoped it to be. Even the girls who dressed her up this morning were completely stunned when they saw her at first glance. All things considered, that kind of reaction is only to be expected, especially those who haven't seen her human form before she became a phantom, otherwise, then there's no point in trying to achieve a shocking factor to this story ah.
In any case, Umi never expected that she can also be stunned by these individuals as well.
If these people, who were on either side of the red carpet on the aisle, aren't holding bouquets of those strange white flowers, they are either holding a banner that says, "Long Live the Queen" or "Queen Fae Forever".
