Chapter XXVI

She was still feeling flushed over the whole information she just learned. Lutang na lutang pa ang isip niya sa mga nalaman. She was holding on to the envelopes she received.

Nagulat pa siya ng biglang tumunog ang cellphone niya. Nakarehistro ang pangalan ni Brad.

Sandali siyang nag-atubiling sagutin ang tawag. Nakatitig lamang siya sa screen ng cellphone hanggang sa tumigil ito sa pag-ring.

She kept staring at his number. Maya-maya ay dinial niya ito. Saglit lang na nag ring sa kabilang linya.

"Juls? How are you? You didn't wake me up when you left."

Napapikit siya nang mariin ng marinig niya sa tinig nito ang pag-aalala.

"I... you looked so tired while you were sleeping. Hindi na kita ginising. Did Benson inform you where I was going?"

"Yes he did. How was it?"

"It was.. it was surprising."

"Are you okay?"

Marahan siyang tumango.

"Yes I am. How is Chloe?"

"She already woke up. But we sort of need your help."

"Sure. Anything that I can do."

Narinig niya itong nagbuntong-hininga sa kabilang linya.

"Everything okay?"

"They were spreading photos of her while she was in bed with that stupid ex of her."

"Do you mean Alex?"

"Yes."

"Oh My God! Hindi pa talaga sapat ang pambu-bully nila sa kanya. They had to stoop down that low."

"We're taking care of it Babe. But we need you to help her get home. Hopefully her parents haven't come home yet from their trip. Benson and I are visiting a friend who can help us wipe out all of those photos. Gunner will drive you guys. Pero susunod din siya agad sa amin. Michelle's here too. Can you come?"

"Of course. I'll be there in like ten minutes."

"Thank You."

Agad na niyang ibinaba ang cellphone at pumara ng taxi. Lahat ng naramdaman niya kanina hbang kausap ang abogado ay naglahong bigla ng malaman ang ginawa nina Leslie kay Chloe.

All that's there were worries and anger towards the people who did this to her.

As soon as she got to Brad's place, naabutan na niya si Michelle at Chloe na papasakay na sa kotse.

Hindi na siya nag-atubiling sumakay kasama ang dalawa matapos mabayaran ang taxi.

She held her close as soon as she got inside the car.

"Okay ka lang ba?"

Tumango lamang si Chloe. She looked so tired and vulnerable. Their entire drive was filled with silence.

Her house was dark the moment they arrived. They both comforted her and were determined to stay with her till her parents got home.

Maya-maya lang ay pumasok na sila sa loob ng bahay. Gunner left and said he will be back.

Nang makapasok na sila ay bumungad sa kanila ang isang anyong naka-upo sa madilim na bahagi ng sala.

Sumalubong sa kanila ang mlaamig nitong mga mata.

"Zac, you're here." it was Chloe.

"Julie.. Mitch, iwanan 'nyo muna kami." his cold and ruthless stare was enough for them to know that he was not going anywhere.
