"What're you doing with Kid's coat?" Killer asked curiously.
He'd stepped into the infirmary the moment he knew you were up and moving and promptly kicked the doctor out for privacy. Now he was standing over you, hands on his hips like he thought you'd snagged the coat yourself when Kid wasn't paying attention.
You yawned and sat up straight on the bed, reaching for the pile of furs beside you to toss to Killer. "Went on deck last night for some fresh air. Ran into the captain and he decided I looked cold and didn't ask for it back. I'm guessing he's going to want it now though."
"I rarely see him without it these days." Killer nodded as he wadded it up and tucked it under an arm. "But before we get this back to him, it's about time we had that talk."
"Straight to business, really?" You sighed, looking over the few bandages covering him that were in sight. His arms were covered and there were a few peeking out from under the collar of his shirt. There were also a few scuffs to his mask that weren't there before. "How're your wounds? I didn't hurt you too bad, did I?"
There was still some guilt that came with the sight of him and you dreaded seeing Wire in similar condition. The doctor told you they were fine but Kid seemed more concerned about the damage you'd done to them. It was hard to relax when your captain wasn't impressed with how things turned out.
"They're fine, not as bad as it looks."
"Captain said you guys won't be much use in fights if some come up any time soon."
"Ignore him, we'll be able to fight just fine." He found the chair the doctor had used yesterday and this morning and lowered himself into it. "Now, you and him, whatever you feel, it needs to end."
"Wow." You rubbed your face to try and banish the lingering sleepy feeling from when you woke up. "I know you're blunt Killer but this is rediculous."
"It's rediculous that you're fawning over Kid. He's dangerous and any woman that's tried relationships with him in the past have learned that the hard way. I'm telling you to find a way to get over it so you don't end up the same and he doesn't get the same way he always does when a prospective lover leaves out of fear."
"So first off, I can assure you I'm not like other women, I made that obvious enough when I went furry, so stop the comparison. Secondly, I'm not actively looking to start something with the captain. I never was."
".....You're making no sense. You're telling me you've got the hots for Kid and are actively ignoring that?"
"It's complicated." You frowned.
"How?"
"Why are you so hellbent on knowing all this?"
"Quit avoiding this (Y/n), spit it out."
When Killer wanted something, he would stop at nothing to get it. That meant he was more curt and demanding than usual and you weren't enjoying the "talk" turning into more of an interrogation as time went by. But if you wanted him to leave you alone, you were going to have to fess up to your strange circumstances.
"Okay, fine, just don't throw a fit if you don't like my answer. I'm still trying to figure this out myself."
He motioned for you to go on with an exaggerated nod. He was getting impatient.
"It may sound like a sorry excuse but it's the best answer I've come up with for this. I think my werewolf self has a lot to do with this. Ever since I first saw him when you guys made your stop at my island, I've felt.....drawn to him. I tried to ignore it but I couldn't shake the feeling that I had to stick around him. It wasn't a want, it was a need. And I figured if I managed to join the crew, I could figure out exactly what about him had me feeling so weird."
