(Texting- Mona: I swear I'm fine mom. Don't worry, they put us up in another hotel down the road.
(Texting- Twinkle: My god Mona... a fire?! What is going to go wrong next?!
(Texting- Mona: I know. Not even Sonia could have predicted this! But at least we're all okay... that's the important thing.
(Texting- Twinkle: Of course. Wow, my heart is beating out of my chest... this is not a message a a mother ever wants to get.
(Texting- Mona: Take deep breaths, you shouldn't be stressed out right now.
(Texting- Twinkle: I'm trying! Boy, your father isn't going to like this one.
(Texting- Mona: I know. Do you mind letting him know? Christian and I are exhausted.
(Texting- Twinkle: Of course, honey.
(Texting- Mona: Look on the bright side... at least we have a destination now, Hobuck beach. I have no idea what we'll find there... but I guess we'll see soon.
(Texting- Twinkle: Just... be safe.
(Texting- Mona: I will.
And the next day we drove on, straight for the Hobuck beach... our trip was peaceful from that point onward, which was just as well. Christian and I enjoyed the passing landscapes, feeling free, listening to music, and chatting about silly things... and two days later... we were finally there.
Christian: We made it. This place is... beautiful.
Mona: It is and we're here, safe and sound. That's all that matters. ... I probably stink. [Giggles]
Christian: You don't... but I'm sure I do!
Mona: [Keeps giggling] We can stink together... in fact, there's no one else I'd rather stink with.
Christian: Speaking of no one else... there is something I wanted to ask you.
Mona: Oh?
Christian: Okay, well...
Mona: Wait! There's a house over there... do you see it? Between the trees?
Christian: I do...
Mona: There's a light in the window, do you think it belongs to Mrs. Lee?
Christian: Probably, but...
Something seems to be on his mind. This place is secluded and romantic, and Christian wants to ask me something...
Mona: You were saying...?
Christian: I... I've done a lot of thinking on this trip, and a lot of laughing. You're so much fun to be with, Mona.
Mona: Thank you.
Christian: And I know it's been a tough few months, with my dad, and all our own drama... and I know you told me you wanted to take things slow... and that you weren't ready to date... but... I'm ready. Here, on this beautiful beach... as we stand here smelling like sweat and car... [Giggles] I want to ask if you'll be my girlfriend.
I want to say yes...
Mona: OH MY GOD... Christian, really? :)
Christian: Really. I know I'm not the best guy in the world, but--
