Naomi

School, the most dreadful place, she could go too even if things have changed since her accident. It still brought horrible memories. Each hallway reminds her of him. And how he treated her. Like always in the mornings and at lunch she spends it in the library. A few students speak to her. Only those that where bully like her. But Naomi mostly keeps to herself.

"Hey," she looked up to see Kay. He was like her, a loner and a victim. But he had it worse. Kay wad abuse by his father. And his mother abandoned them when he was little. Right now his leaving with foster parents. His father went to jail. Naomi believes he hasn't fully recovered. She could see the new mark on his arms. He isn't ashamed to show his scars. Naomi considers him a friend. Her only friend.

"Hi," she scooted a bit, so he'll sit next to her on the floor.

"I heard his back," Naomi looked down. "He hasn't bother has he?"

"I bump into him at my brother restaurant than again in the bookstore," Naomi looked at Kay. "Than yesterday he took me out to eat."

"Why is he nice to you, after all, he did to you?" Kay asked.

"I'm not sure," Naomi sighed.

Naomi has known Kay since sophomore year. But they never talked until now. His good looking. His hair is dark, his eyes a dark brown. They always held this pain. He was skinny, and seem only to wear black.

"Well be careful, you don't know what he may be planning," Kay said.

"Yeah," Naomi looks down.

"So want to go to the park after school?" Kay asked her. No one has ever invited her anywhere this may be the first time. She smiled.

"Sure," Kay smiled.

"Good, I'll meet you after school, oh silly me, we have the last class together," Naomi giggled. Kay seems to be the only one to make her laugh. Not even her brother could get her to smile.

So after school, they stopped by the office. Kay needed to get some papers. Then they headed out. Naomi had called her brother, during lunch hour. That way he wouldn't come for her.

"I hope he feels guilty," Kay said. "Make him suffer."

"Maybe he does," Naomi said.

"Don't matter though, don't let your guard down," Kay said.

"I won't," Naomi smiled.

They walk down the street. Kids were getting out of school. So the park will be crowded. When they got there, they sat on a bench, under a beautiful shade.

"So, how's your eating habits?" He asked.

"Good, I guess," she looks down.

"Don't starve yourself, your not fat nor are you ugly," Kay said. "You're beautiful, don't let them bring you down."

"Thanks," Naomi smiled. Kay always made her feel happy. Made her feel wanted. But too bad, his not into girls, nor into guys. Kay doesn't know what he wants. Only in time he will learn and heal. His wound is still fresh. All that abuse made his self-confidence.

They talked for a while. Then someone came, Jay.

"Naomi," she scooted closer to Kay. Jay stood there in from of them.

"If you don't mind, this is a private chat," Kay drape his arm over her shoulder, pulling her closer. Naomi trembles, not because of Kay, but because Jay was there.

"I wasn't talking to you, kid," Jay sounded annoyed.

"It doesn't matter, she's with me, so back off," Kay said. "She doesn't want to talk to you."

"I want her to tell me, not you," Naomi jump, as Jay slam his hand on the table. "Naomi, look at me."

She didn't; she looked down. Can't Jay leave her alone? Please make him go, she repeated over and over in her head.

"Naomi," Jay kept on calling her name. "I'm talking to you!" She immediately looks up.

"Don't yell at her," Kay stood up. "She ain't your damn toy for you to push her around!" If Naomi didn't do something, there would be a fight. "She has me now, and I would be damn if I'll let you push her around and use her!"

Kay grabbed her hand and hauled her up. Grabbing her bag, he led her away.

"And stay away from her!" Kay yelled.

Naomi sighed out of relief. Gripping his hand, she smiled. Naomi has someone that will protect her. She has her brother, and now Kay. They won't let anyone hurt her anymore.

But now she's afraid; Jay will come after her. She leaned closer to Kay. She'll have to stick close to her brother.

"He won't bother you," Kay smiled. "You have me now."

"Thanks," Naomi said.

Kay, drop her off at her house. Jared wasn't home yet. Going in she got hungry she looked through the fridge she found leftovers. Heating the food up, Naomi washes her hands once her food was heated up. She went into the living room. Turning the TV on, Naomi sat down on the couch and ate. While she ate, the doorbell rang. Who could it be? Her brother had keys. Maybe he forgot about them. Getting up, she went and opened the door. Her eyes widened and went to close it. But he put his foot in between. She backed away. He's going to hurt her. She ran into the living room, hearing the door close. Jay came after her.

"I ain't going to hurt you," he said. "Just really didn't like, your little boyfriend yelling at me." Naomi kept her distance with the help of the couch. "Just want to talk to you, that's all."

"I don't want to," Naomi tremble.

"I'm trying to do right, and it's hard when you keep avoiding me," Jay sounded angry now.

"You need to leave," Naomi went around as he went toward her.

"Not until you agree to go to the fair with me," she looked at him. Shaking her head no. "Naomi, I won't take no for an answer."

Naomi went for the door. He caught her and forced her down on the couch. She stopped struggling. He pins her hands above her head. She turns her headed to the side staring at the TV.

"Say yes, and I'll let you go," Jay demanded. He hasn't changed. He just got worse. Naomi had no choice.

"Okay," she said. "I'll go."

He let her go but didn't get off her. She didn't dare move. She felt him lean down.

Naomi's heart began beating fast she whimper, feeling his weight on her get heavier.

"I won't hurt you, just," she felt him kiss her cheek. Once upon a time, he had slapped her there. Now he's kissing it. "Sorry." He got off her and walked towards the door. "I'll pick you up on Friday, after school." He said and left.

Naomi rolled to her side, facing the couch. Tears spill, she cried. Eventually, she fell asleep. There's no running from him. He will always find a way to make her do things she doesn't want to. No one can save her from him. No one. His unstoppable, he will do what he pleases with her. And Naomi has no way of fighting him off.

Jay will never change. His born to be cruel.
