Naomi
He's been in the bathroom for almost an hour now. Naomi wonders if she should check on him. But doesn't want to disturb him.
She sat on his bed waiting for him. Maybe she should check on him. What if he's hurt?
Getting up, she walked over to the bathroom and knocked. When there was no response, she went in. It was foggy, and she saw Jay on the floor.
"Ah, Jay!" She knelt down and touched him. Pulling her hand away, she panicked. He was burning up. She shook him. "Jay. Jay."
"Hmm huh?" Naomi helped him up and led him toward his bed. Once there, she covers him up.
"What to do?" Naomi didn't know what to do. She never had to face this problem before. She should call his mother.
She grabbed his phone and searched for the number. Finding it, she dialed it. But all she could hear was static. Looking at the phone, it said no signal. Frowning, she looked out the window. It was so, foggy out and the wind was blowing hard it rattles the windows. Naomi ran to the bathroom and searched for medicine. She grabbed all she could find. Reading them carefully, Naomi went and grabbed some water. She had to help him take medication.
She gasped as the lights went out. Sighing, she stayed by Jay's side curling up beside him. She could hear the thunder through the windows. Naomi was afraid now. She usually had Jay holding her. Now it's her holding him and taking care off. Naomi hopes his fever will go down. Or the storm would stop so that she can call someone. Naomi couldn't sleep. So she decided to make something to eat. Then Naomi forgot the power went off. Sighing she went to the kitchen and looked for something to eat. Something that doesn't need to be heated. So she found some brownies and white cover donuts. So she ate those not all of them, but just some. She went back to the room. Jay was on his stomach now. Looking around, she grabbed a shirt laying on the floor and use it to wipe the sweat from his bareback. His fever was still there. It wouldn't go down. All this has to be because of the fight; his body must be exhausted. Naomi was panicking; she didn't know what to do now.
So she laid there with him. Waiting for the storm to pass. When it did, it was early in the morning. It was still cloudy out and snowing. But the worse was over, and the lights were back on. Naomi grabbed her phone and saw it had a signal. She immediately called her brother who answered very quickly.
"Naomi where are you?!" He yelled. "You any idea how worry I been!" She cut him off before he could say anything.
"It was getting bad last night so Jay thought it would be safe to stay here at his apartment," Naomi said. "Jared, Jay sick, his fever won't go down can you tell his parents or Lin please." There was a long pause.
"Alright I'll be there with Lin just stay put," her brother said.
Naomi waited for them to get here. Jays fever was still the same. It seems it kept going higher.
When her brother and Lin arrived, she was happy. Lin quickly tended to her cousin while Jared talked to her.
"Naomi, I'm getting tired of you sneaking around like this," Jared said. "You're becoming like him."
"I..I'm not bad," Naomi said. "I'm sorry I won't do it again."
"It's fine," Jared held her. "It's good that your more outgoing but call me when you're not coming home."
"Okay," Naomi smiled.
After a few hours, Jay parents arrived. And they asked about the bruises on him. Naomi didn't know what to say. She can't tell them about the fight his been doing. It will break their hearts.
"I don't know," Naomi said.
"What has he been up to?" His mother sighed. "Well seems his fever has gone down."
"Alright, well I'll be taking Naomi home for her to get some sleep," Jared said. Naomi didn't want to leave his side, but she was exhausted from waking up once in awhile at night.
"Alright will call when he wakes up thank you, Naomi," his mother hugged her.
Naomi smiled.
Grabbing her bag, she follows Jared out. Once in the car, she felt exhausted and fell asleep. She woke up in her bed; it was 6 in the morning. Did she sleep for a whole day?
"Your up, I thought you were in a coma," Jared came in with a trait. "Here eat."
"I guess I was so, exhausted," she said. "Did Lin call about Jay?"
"Yeah he's fine, ask for you," Jared said. "Lin told me about the fights, Jay, been going to now I won't tell on him. But I don't want him to take you there anymore."
"It wasn't bad, his good at it," Naomi said. "This time though it was because of me he got all bruised up. He got distracted. And got knocked down a few times."
"Well maybe you shouldn't go," Jared told her. "What if he gets hurt next time?"
"I guess so," Jared was right. If she went again, Jay could get hurt. Sighing, she ate her food.
"I'll be downstairs," Jared said and left her alone with her thoughts.
What can she do? She'll tell Jay she can't go with him to his fights. Besides school will start again. And she'll be busy. Smiling the door flew open. And Kay ran in. She hasn't seen him for a while now. She's been spending so, much time with Jay. Naomi felt guilty.
"Hey!" Kay rushed toward her and jumped her. She gasped, good thing she had set the trait on her nightstand.
"Kay?" Naomi looked at him. And the unexpected happened. He crushed his lips against hers. Naomi didn't know how to react. She was shocked he done that. He pulled away. "Why did you kiss me?" He didn't say anything and kissed her again. Naomi pushed him away. "Kay stop it." She scooted away.
"I'm sorry just needed to know," he said. "I don't feel anything for females." He sighed. Now that Naomi notices, he looked beaten up.
"What happened?" She asked him.
"Oh this nothing just my father got to me," Kay said. "And my stepbrother. Father divorce mother and marry someone else, and now I have an older brother who's an asshole."
"Oh, Kay I'm sorry I haven't been spending time with you," Naomi hugged him.
"It's fine," Kay sighed. "Naomi, I had consensual sex with my stepbrother."
"But I thought you said he beats you?" Naomi said. "I don't get it."
"Yeah he's an asshole but his hot," Kay said. "He doesn't hit me. He pretends not to let his mother know about us."
"You're dating him?" Naomi asked. "You're confusing."
"My stepbrother, which thank god his not related to me, him and I we together," Kay said. "We fell for each when I was in the library. But his mother doesn't like me. He even defending me from my father as best he could. Sure he's an asshole sometimes mean to me. But his nice. Naomi, his nice to me. We like each other. His planing on moving out of the house and be with me. We need to pretend we hate each other, so my father doesn't know nor his mother. Sure he defended me, but only because he said he would call the cops on my father for child abuse. He doesn't like when someone abusive. Even though his mean."
"Oh, I see," Naomi sighed. "Well as long as you don't get hurt."
"Yeah, I'm sorry I kissed you," Kay said. "Just needed to make sure I was gay."
"Okay," Naomi smiled.
"So what you been up to?" He asked.
Naomi sighed and began to tell him all she has experienced. It's good to have him here. Her best friend.
