Your Not Like The Rest

It was morning, it was foggy and dim. No sun shining through just seemed depressing really. You were walking through the halls shivering, obviously, the sweater you were wearing did no good. But besides that, it was just another regular day for you. Walking to the great hall in the morning, having your breakfast and just being alone as usual. But while walking down to the great hall you passed a group of girls just surrounding Cedric Diggory. You never got why everyone liked him. He was just another guy..? But you just stared while walking past them but accidentally made full eye contact with the boy. His smile faded away and he stared right into your eyes.

Chills had run down your spine and it almost felt like your breath was taken away. You shook your head out of it and continued your stroll all the way to the great hall and then sitting down in the first empty spot you saw. You didn't have many friends but perhaps that was your fault, isolating yourself all the time being some antisocial kid. But you just sat and ate your breakfast as any other student would right in the morning. Normal for you of course, but not today. As you did your daily task in the corner of your eyes you saw a presence sit in front of you.

You looked up to see Cedric. Just Cedric. You looked around confused why he was here. 'is this some prank?' You thought to yourself when nervously looking around trying to not look at him, still confused. "Hi y/n," He said softly, bringing your attention all to him. Your eyes met his and you just sat there for a while not knowing what to do or say. You bit the inside of your cheek, bouncing your leg up and down. "Oh um, hi?" You finally answered. He smiled. Not an ordinary smile you would have seen from him.

"Woah didn't know you talked" He laughed. You sighed, rolling your eyes.

"Can I help you, Cedric? Is there something you need, want? Or is this just some dumb prank your friends are pulling, if so I don't have the time" You flat-out told him? Although being nervous something you rarely feel you were honest. And with your last words, he just smirked.

"Can I not talk to you?" He said in a sarcastic tone.

"Why would you want to talk to me out of everyone in this bollocking room" You laughed out, taking your bookbag and packing things in it trying hard not to look at Cedric.

"Why not? Im bored and you seem interesting" He added. You looked up furiously taking it as some insult.

"Interesting? So your only talking to me because you're just bored and I'm the most interesting person here" You scoffed, you stood up from your seat throwing your bag around your shoulder and heading out the great hall pissed. As walking away you could hear Cedric muttering to himself. He quickly got up himself and ran up to catch up. And so he did, as you walked to your class he walked beside you.

"Look I didn't mean it like that, just I want to talk to someone new, not someone I've had a conversation with a thousand times, it's annoying" He admitted to you, you couldn't believe that the guy who got the most attention hated it. Maybe you just assumed things as well though. But listening to him you stopped walking and looked at him.

"Really? That's surprising. But sorry Cedric, I'm not the person for you" You said smiling at him continuing your walk, and so he continues to follow.

"How do you know that? I barely know you so let's get to know each other?" He asked seriously. The whole time he just looked at you, why would he want to get to know you?

"Trust me Cedric I know you. Your that smart cool guy who thinks he's above everyone else and once he's bored he talks to the one person who likes to be alone" You told him straight to his face. You saw him look away scoffing.

"Then you don't know me at all y/n. But think about it okay?" He told you like you were actually going to consider wanting him to know you. But maybe you should... You turned around watching him walk away. Right into the crowd. Far now. You had no one, but maybe it should just stick like that. Or not.
